He was never foreshadowed as evil. He was shown to be the enabler of Hope's delusions of grandeur. That robotic look when he was comforting simply showed that it was insincere, not that he was evil.

Nice interview. I especially liked analysis and comparison between Hope and Kenji, well thought out and nicely put. As for Pixie/Velocidad smooching, I initially thought Gabriel detained Pixie by kiss, not the other way around. I'm so excited for the conclusion, Emma's rage is so juicy when she pulls Hope's hair.

I think Kenji has an awesome power; it would suck for the conclusion of this to leave him depowered but he's crazy. He was crazy before he got powers, and he's gotten crazier since. I think his influence has been more volatile and dangerous than Hope's. He's been nothing but poison since he got onto the team.
