I spent about an hour on the phone with Nick, but it was mostly about where the book was going to be at #12, not what his longterm plans might have been. Frankly, I shouldn't be writing his longterm story.

I can understand that. Looking back at the previous series of Ultimate X-Men it seemed a common thing with posters was about how certain plots brought up by one writer were executed in a way contrary to what the original writer was going for such as the story with Apocolypse.

I think I might have answered this in this thread somewhere... at least in part. And like I just said, I'm not here to fulfill the story Nick intended to write years into the future, I don't think anyone expects me to do that. We'll transition the best way possible.

Here's a fun one: If you could have the powerset of any member of Ultimate Comics: X-Men, who would it be? What about for Adjectiveless X-Men?

I am pretty sure Victor von Damme is dead...

You mean like professor x and magneto ? but I understand the point Sage but I believe I read somewhere that Vic had those dragon tattoos as backups in case if something every happened to him they make a new copy of him in a new host. As well during the Ultimate Enemy Arc Victor's machines where still working away on something. Also Vic has already shown he can switch bodies pretty much at will so its possible he had some contingent magics in place to jump into Namor for example, but I guess we will wait and see.

Since Freedom Fighters are labeled as Terorist groups most of the time will Kitty's team come into conflict with the Ultimates?
Plus are you going to approach the Villians of the story as freedom fighters?

My question is this, I know you have said that you aren't coming on board to finish Spencer's stories but tell your own which is fair enough, but are you going to make sure your stories fit in with existing continuity and even perhaps explain previous threads that were left dangling? This is something Hickman did so well that along with his great story telling made him so popular with the UU fans

Yeah, I think I answered this... maybe here, or in another thread... at least twice. I'll be really clear: I wasn't hired to continue Nick's stories into the future. But we all would be fools to leave things dangling. As much as humanly possible we will tie it all up, but give us some time... its clear Nick was seeding things for payoff YEARS down the road. I have my story and my direction to work on and along the way we'll incorporate Nick's stuff so it feels organic.

Question #1 I have is about "the Massive" are the pages from "Dark Horse Presents" about "the Massive" going to be in the first issue?

Question #2 is about "Ultimate Comics X-Men" you said in a interview that Kitty would not be the same person as we see in #13 that we could end up with in #20. Is this going to happen because of the choices she has to make ?

Thats great to hear. It will certainly be better that way than having to force a quick resolution to all those threads.

June can't come quick enough for me as I cant wait to read a Kitty centric arc again

Maybe you could answer this question:

Will the events that lead to Kitty taking action be happening in The Ultimates & X-Men leading upto you taking over or will you have to spend a few issues creating a catalyst for her to take a stance and decide to become more proactive?


Also, I'm just about to add The Massive #1 to my pull list for June, and I too would like to know if the short prequals will be included in the ongoing at some point? (I've missed the first two Dark Horse presents and to be honest I'm not really interested in reading the other comics in them anyway)

So correct me if I'm wrong, but what you are saying is that we will get both your story and then years later the payoff Nick originally planned?

I do interprets what Wood is saying as he will tell the stories that is on his hart and organic incorporate them with what Spenser has set in work as subplot. And Spenser has set up so many sub stories that we will see all these ideas way into the future.

This just popped into my head, will you be writing anything about Kitty, Johnny and Bobby finding out about Miles? They all had very strong ties to Peter and while they are currently in the sewers, they do appear to have an Ipad with the best reception ever so I would imagine they would stumble across a headline about him. If Gwen and May saw a paper in france about it surely people who live in the same city are bound to find out.
