Jeebus, scared me for a second there. Thought they were going straight up to Norman Osborn's team with Luke Cage and I thought I'd have to drop the title, but having the actual Thunderbolts still in the book is a relief. I'm sure they'll combine and some from each team will go away, but as long as certain characters like Songbird and Ghost are around (and Satana's growing on me) I'll be happy.
A Fool for the Foom
MORE time travel?Shalvey: Yes, I'll be handling the scenes featuring the Dark Avengers. Kev will be handling scenes that feature the T-Bolts in their continuing trawl through time. It will be similar to how we worked on "T-Bolts," but I believe Kev and I will be working much closer together than the separate arcs we've been doing lately.
Mach-V but no Songbird? STOP FUELING MY PARANOIA!Who are some of the important supporting players in "Dark Avengers?"
Parker: One character who's been missing or rather developing -- Man-Thing -- returns! And Mach-V is going to have to pull off some serious feats to help Luke.
I really shouldn't care, I haven't bought a Marvel comic since the last issue of Mighty Avengers but I loved the original T-bolts and bought the "New T-bolts" till the got Ellis-ized and I have all but 40 of the original Avengers and the reboot till Austen & Bendis killed them for me. I can't help but wonder haven't they killed what it means to be an Avenger anymore. I currently only buy used trades or severely discounted one at comic book show, and one of the few modern day ones I'd like to read is Parkers T-bolts partially just because it's an interesting line up, why would I ever want to read about villainous mirror images of characters that are available in other books. I want to buy Marvel books again at some point but decisions like this make it clear that I'm going to have to wait until the mind set there changes.
I'm guessing keeping the teams separate is a decent way of spreading out the work load and whittling down the cast till they come together. Let's say we lose Dark Scarlet Witch and Hyde and Centurius to the past, then there's a manageable team when they come back together.
just out of curiosity...who is "dark scarlet witch"???
Pretty cool that Sultan Magus is going to be the Dark Avengers' first foe.
And, of course, I'm happy about Man-Thing returning.(Sounds like he comes back to the present without the rest of the 'Bolts. Wonder how that happens...)
Why not just do a flip book with T-Bolts on one side and Dark Avengers on the other, like the Marvel Double-Features?
Whatever. Either way I think I'm dropping the title. This time-travel story seems to be never-ending and isn't working for me. That, and I'm still burned out from Osborn conquering the world and all that from Dark Reign, it seems to early to have him come back again...and the concept of "Dark Avengers" I think is lame.
The Avengers brand has become pretty watered down in recent years.
Well, it sounds little better, but I'm not interested in the time travel angle, so I'm still going to pass on it. Frankly, Add Skaar and ragnarok and just boot the rest, especailly that six armed Spider Man.
I realize this is an attempt to save the book, but.....I'm skeptical about this. Big time.
