Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes is heading up Paramount Pictures' "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" film reboot, but these might not be the turtles fans have come to know and love.

I'm all for different interpretations, but I hate Bay's films. Not interested.

Not that it isn't a sensitive issue, but is this maybe a marketer's overreaction to the current issue of radioactive fallout in Japan? Maybe? We all know fantasy and reality are exactly the same thing.

    Kind of this.
Aliens sounds horrible. READ THE NAME. Teenage MUTANT Ninja Turtles. He is a dumb-a**. I'll watch it if it is as hilariously bad as Transformers.

If it's So Bad It's Good as the first Transformers movie then I might check it out on DVD. Still not having high expectations

Ugh. Why does Hollywood have to ruin everything? Also it's not like aliens are any more plausible than mutant reptiles, so I don't see how that would lead to kids believing that they're real.

I think this is a really bad idea. Making the turtles part of an alien race removes their uniqueness and their isolation. When they were "freaks" they only had each other to rely on, but now there are billions of other giant sentient turtles out there. Also, how do you explain aliens being "ninjas" that are skilled in Earth (Japanese) martial arts and why do they wield primitive human weapons?

Listen, the first and third Transformers movies are hugely fun action flicks.

But what the hell is this?

What I love about Michael Bay is how incredibly successful he can by while seemingly everyone on a message board hates him.

Michael Bay doing a movie about four mutated turtles and a rat in New York City? For some reason, that feels amazingly appropriate. I can't wait to see how he does this and how much he ends up blowing up as a result!

I don't mind the change. Actually the premise has always been too silly and childish for me to fully embrace.

Exactly why I'm starting to find complaining about Bay films pointless. We internet posters can complain all we want but Bay will still make movies and make money off em

Yes, because SPACE turtles learning ninjitsu is so much more sensible and mature.

And anyways, the title should be Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles, not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Unless they're MUTANT SPACE TURTLES.
