And I would be embarrassed and ashamed to have the world views you have. But that's to be expected. Both sides believe that the other side is made up of fools and liars who just won't see the world the "right" way. It's nonsense, of course, with most sides having valid points and its a question of weighing the various factors, but THAT truth would complicate things, so instead we just say the other side is "evil" or has their head in the sand so we can live in our bubble with no concern.

But what does this have to do with anything? I didn't think this was the "flame Xenon" topic.

And now that Xenon has decided to bring real world parents in to this......well I'm gonna take my leave and go outside and grill some dead stuff . I'll leave the bickering over how much Peter has always wanted a wife and kids to you fellas.

It's somewhat cute the way you start insulting me and then try to pretend you're the one taking the high road. Seriously, neither of us wanted to have this conversation and you supposedly "don't care", so why the fuck did you bring it up?

I missed a lot so I'll keep this simple.

1: Xenon is right. Peter, particularly in the early days, wanted to be married. You could argue this is because Stan Lee was born in the 1920s and lived in a time when people did marry (and tended to marry young). Hell, Aunt May herself tried to pair up Peter with MJ because she thought MJ would make a "good housewife."

2: Saying being with Peter is a high-stress situation and it would break anyone is another argument. Because that isn't the story we got. We got One More Day.

3: Don't attack the newspaper strip. It is goofy and fun.
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

I'll bite, what views are those, the ones I have that you would be embarrassed to have. I certainly can point out the ones you have that ARE embarrassing, unless you are a card carrying member of the KKK or some such organization.

Not sure, you brought it up.

What high road? Going outside because I had plans to grill and I don't want to get caught in whatever pissing match you are trying to get into by bringing parents into this? Because I can bring up what the fuck ever I want to bring up, that's why. I may not care what you think, but it sure is hell interesting hearing it sometimes... any other questions?
Why should I want to make anything up? Life's bad enough as it is without trying to invent any more of it.

I'm going to get around to ordering those Spider-Man Newspaper collection books eventually. Probably for the best, honestly, because I'm not sure how much I'd enjoy a daily three-panel strip (and my local paper doesn't carry it). Reading them in a collected edition seems best for me.

I'm won't be biting, because this is not the time or place and serves no purpose, because I'm sure every single view you have you consider to be just and proper and have demonstrated a clear inability to consider alternative view points as anything other ignorance and "embarrassing" by engaging in hyperbole(you're really bringing up the KKK? REALLY?) and belittlement. I don't think such a conversation would lead to any more understanding, and this is a Spider-Man board, so I'll keep my futile wall-banging posts to Spider-Man subjects.

Not sure, you brought it up.
No. you are. You're the one who made the crack out of the blue. Not me.

Sometimes I have to step back and wonder if people are being sincere around here, because I see posts being taken in a way I've never seen a person in real life take the same statements. Because this is not a political message board, I'll just say that line about "fighting our parents battles" I was not attempting to be specific or literal but express a concept that I thought was well-understood. I appear to be mistaken, but I'm not going to delve into it further for fear of complete derailment.

I don't know what the hell is going on anymore (everyone is attacking each others beliefs but nobody has actually said what their beliefs are so I am confused) but this is true.

Spider-Man just saved Asgard from Loki. Now Thor is transporting Spider-Man and that ginger back to Earth.

Well I meant with the thread, but yeah I wasn't very clear. Though that story is awesome just for how anti-climatic the ending was.

As Dan Slott and his "BIG TIME" run has shown, we definitely don't need Spider-Man to be married to have great stories. In fact, the stories told now are much better than the stories told when Spider-Man was married. It goes to show that the marriage prevented great stories from being told and was a hindrance and prevented many top tier writers from writing Spider-Man.

So let's just enjoy Slott's excellent "BIG TIME" run and hope it lasts a long time. (unless Grant Morrison wants to write Spider-Man )

I clearly won't consider your alternative view points on racism...you are right on that note. And that is a huge one that leads me to question anything else you might say.... other than that, your ass is trying to make mouth noises for you.

You should step back, and read what you type before hitting enter....when you say "I'm not going to delve into it further" you mean "I'm going to keep other peoples parents and their doings out of my mouth" then I salute you.

And what was it Dan Slott said about Mary Jane?

    http://www.newsarama.com/comics/dan-...an-111215.html

Slott: Yes. There was a point where we just knew if MJ was on screen, anybody who was a love interest was going to come in second best. People are so invested in Mary Jane, and she's such a part of the legacy.
Also, explain to me how Maximum Carnage would have been any good if MJ wasn't in it.

I wasn't any good even WITH her in it.

What does your first point have to do with anything? My point is that the current direction is writing GREAT stories without Spider-Man being married. I don't care if great stories were told with a married Spider-Man. If you believe in the sanctity of marriage or your belief that Spider-Man needs to be married, that's fine with me. I'm not going to crap on anyone's beliefs or opinions. My argument is with people who claim the stories told now are horrible and are "missing" something without a married Spider-Man. OMD happened half a decade ago, let's enjoy the stories being told now. NOW LET'S BRING BACK GWEN STACY (kidding, kidding. I know she's dead in the ground and never coming back barring Superman Prime punching reality again )

Well for starters, we wouldn't have had to see Spider-Man's wife grinding all over random men at a club.
