Nothing really. I lke Rucka but the Punisher doesn't interest me as a character. I don't mind seeing him as a guest star in other books but I'm not really interested in reading about his solo exploits.

I like Chechetto but in DD,other Superhero series. His Punisher looks like 30 year old young man and not a vigilante killer. I meant art style and superhero suit is generally why i dont read 616 Punisher in recent years. The old 616 comics he had Max Punisher like artist that made him look big, dangerous, older.

Maybe it's because I'm reading these on my laptop, but I'm having a hard time telling what's going on sometimes. I love the art, and I'm guessing I need to read these again. I love the art, love Rucka, but Punisher works best as a MAX title.

I read Punisher up to issue #9 and Daredevil up to issue #10. To be honest, I can't understand why Daredevil is getting all this praise when I felt that the Punisher was way more enjoyable. It may be that I am more familiar with Frank Castle than I am with Matt Murdock but so far I am more interested in continuing with the Punisher than I am with Daredevil.

I am not a hardcore comic fan so perhaps my opinion is far from the norm

DD new run is a fun more old school take on the character. One old fans like me enjoy after many years of grim noir Daredevil tales.

I like Punisher too but Daredevil has more acclaimed old runs than any marvel hero. Try the acclaimed runs and see if he is for you.

Im not hardcore comic fan either, i just read the creators, characters i like.

There is not a thing one could do to sell me on this book: Its an obsolete dinosaur, of a long dead short lived trend. You can no more sell me on punisher then you can sell me on rocket racer & for exactly the same reason. There are many more characters with mass appeal that Marvel could focus on & make successful. Punisher has not only outlived his interest span by the majority of readers, it think he's also outlived his own use period: If he hasn't succeedded at killing of his enemies by now then he's never going to.

Time to pull the plug on this character.

Couple questions. first, is 12 a good pick up point, because I hear it is. Second, What happened to Frank Castle's eye? Third, is it worth it to pick up the other 11 issues? Fourth, for The Omega Effect, do I have to read all 3 issues to understand it? Thanks!

Yeah. The recap page is pretty dense in any given issue.

The Vulture f*cked Frank up in #3 (4?) and he's still recovering.

Yes. I picked up #1-9 in anticipation of the Daredevil crossover, and they're quite good back to back.

Again, the recap pages are very thorough, so not really. It's more rewarding read if you do though.

I'd say skip the Omega Effect because it has more to do with DD than Frank and the characters in his book.

I'm sort of back in, #12 was excellent despite the Cole Alves bologna. The story to 15 has me intrigued though and I really do hope 16 is the last we'll see of Cole-Alves.

And I hope Marco stays on for a while longer, if not, I hope Mister Wacker finds an artist compatible with Marco's style as the fill in artists (with the exception of Lark) have been pretty jarring and incompatible to me. For the time being, I'm more interested in Space Punisher but I want to utterly love this book again. We'll see.

Only Marvel book I get, and this book is one of my favorites on my list! I already love Rucka because of his work in the Bat-Universe, and Punisher has always been one of my favorites. The world he is building, and the supporting cast (Love the Rachel Cole-Alves character. A female partner really interests me.), are all top notch. Also, I love that Punisher barely talks. It makes speeches, like the one in this current issue, hold so much more weight.

Oh, and Chechetto's art is absolutely mind blowing. The fill-in artist are tolerable, but Chechetto is just too awesome to enjoy a fill-in.

Great jump on point for new readers but also just a great issue full stop. Great art great story telling , I would go as far to say a non Punisher fan would enjoy this....

I think Rucka has a great sense of the character and this title was better than PunisherMAX when they were both running side-by-side. I love the "Force of Nature" approach to The Punisher -- and how it's being set up as a detective story.

I actually do agree that it is better than Aaron's Punishermax run as a whole, at least so far. I have mixed feelings on Aarons run . Although there was alot he brought to the Punisher that hadn't really been explored there were also some hugely dodgy moments in his Punishermax run and I found it very inconsistent ranging from absolutely brilliant (The "Frank" arc) to pretty disappointing (Bullseye and the the end of the last arc). His death issue was fine up until the cheesy "sons of punisher" part. Rucka has managed to remain consistently good pretty much the whole way through his run, despite being achingly slow paced.
