It's a showdown of generals in "Avengers Vs. X-Men" #2 as Marvel's new teaser for the series features an exhausted Cyclops and Captain America engaged in an epic staredown.

I'd like to see JRJR on a comic about extremely old superheroes. I think he'd kill on that, what with all the practice he's had adding lines to people's faces all these years. Does he get paid by the pencil stroke?!

Two of my absolute favorite characters throwing down.....I'd prefer to see Cyke come out on top in this one though, I simply think he needs the win more.

I think the X-Men will win the first battle but the Avengers will take the overall "war".

Yeah, I think that's the most sensible way to tell the story.

X-Men man for man are the more powerful team, so they'll probably win round one. But Steve I think has a greater pool of resources and can find a way to overcome in the end.

Though I agree Cyle probably will win the first round, I'm not sure he needs it more.

I honestly think the Avengers have gotten their behinds kicked more than Scotts X-Men have in recent times.

I'm saying Scott needs the win more than Cap does in an individual fight. Everybody knows how much of a badass Captain America is, but people tend to underestimate just how skilled Cyclops is and think he's just some guy who shoots "heat rays" from his eyes.

Not much of a staredown when you can't see the other guy's eyes.

Eh, they may let Cyclops win this one, but if there were a real war, Avengers would take it hands down in the end. If you want to win a fight, go in with Captain America on your side. If you want a bunch of whining, discussion, reflection and self-doubt, then the X-Men are your team.

...so naturally, you'll probably have Cyclops win and then you'll get the stupid U.S. government seeing Captain America get his ass handed to him and they'll have a gang-load of helicopters and tanks and armed soldiers coming over to rescue the Avengers. Better yet, tie it into the movie and have Ultimate Nick Fury and SHIELD come in and be all "We'll take it from here, Captain." Cue lame A-team music and crowds chanting "USA, USA, USA." Avengers, unfortunately, can be the epitome of lame sometimes.
