It's actually a pretty good comparisson. Just because both have the overarching "latin" descriptor doesn't negate ethnic differences. Stonegold's point is that you wouldn't necessarily expect all other Europeans to get along just because they are both "european". History has proven that. There is ethnic cultural divergence.

I've worked for a catering company that predominately hired Latino employees, and that was my experience as well. Most of my co-workers were Mexican, and they actively hated on people from Puerto Rico and especially Cuba and vice versa. There was no solidarity there at all.

Agreed in the latino thing. The cultures are so different that lumping them together is basically nonsensical in any kind of meaningful way.

Not just Mexican gangs, but yes. My ex-girlfriend from many years ago was Nicaraguan. She lived in San Fransisco, and around the city Nicaraguans and Salvadorians didn't get along. I don't know if that was a local thing or if that traces back to their respective homelands.

Well stand your ground doesn't really apply because she didn't really shoot anyone and she was in her house and she didn't do anything wrong.

I don't even know what they are prosecuting her on.... was the gun not registered? that's all i can think of.

Maybe...conspiracy? The link says the boyfriend changed his story and says they conspired to get her let off.
Get let off of nothing.

More likely it's attempted murder, or reckless gun usage, or something.
