The term 'opportunity cost' comes to mind when I read your thoughts on time spent reading comics. The undercurrent of this conversation is one on time spent doing anything - going to a job, working on a hobby, eating, etc. Reading - whether it's illustrated or prose - is a form of self-education, which seems to be one of the most constructive ways to spend time. Of course, reading is also a form of consumption, but the 'learning vs. doing' convo might be better suited on a different thread.

Mr. Vertigo
I was intrigued by "Saucer Country," so it's disappointing that it left you so cold. Comparing anything to "Seekers Into The Mystery" is a truly low blow! OTOH "The Manhattan Projects" sounds good. I'm always interested in Hickman's creator-owned work, and this sounds like a strong new entry.
