Storm manipulates the weather, not reality itself. The Scarlet Witch only manipulates reality when she's powered up by an external force.

You really shouldn't take more than 25% of what you see on this particular board seriously...especially when it comes to characters like Storm and Beast.

Take everything you see about Beast seriously. That guy IS prone to commiting random acts of genocide.

I read it as satire about the obsessions of many of Storms fans who somehow thing that She is far more powerful than she is, She not even an Omega but that escapes too many storm fans, They tend to make up powers that she doesn't have like mind control and reality warping by taking things out of context and simply making stuff up.

I do not see why she should not be able to do this. Thoughts are merely electrical impulses. It is very close to the application of her powers that makes her mind difficult to read and control, since she has control over the electrical impulses in her brain.

She might be able to control/manipulate the electrical impulses...as in shut them off, turn them on, increase them until the person mentally shuts down.
But she would not be able to actually read the thoughts carried via those impulses.

Perhaps, "mind reading" was too broad... Think Polygraph machine. While not necessary reading the target subject's mind; the belief is that deceptive answers will produce physiological responses that can be differentiated from those associated with non-deceptive answers.

I am a Storm fan and even I can see the irrelevance of utilising her powers in that specific way.

It's about applied application of powers... Much like her ability to separate hydrogen and oxygen molecules through electrolysis. The point is can she do it? And, as for Emma being "reliable" she's proven herself to be a habitual liar. I wouldn't trust her to look after children or Ponies.
