I've heard that they have people who go around the internet and read fan comments so they get feedback. However that doesnt mean they want fans raging and being... well typical internet posters on their boards. The moment they announce something controversial there's always a meltdown from all the angry fans. 10 days later everyone has dealt with it, or has mellowed to like it. DC might not want to deal with it. Or maybe its a very costly thing to run. I dunno.

Or allowing a writer to explain what was done on a book in relation to whatever big event was going (McDuffie's JLA). Or for fans screaming for the return of Ted Kord, Donna Troy, Wally West and the stop butchering certain teams (Titans).

I wold rather have fans express their reasons (good or bad) as to why they aren't buying a book on my company page. So I know what to try to fix.

Because what good is having a comment page on character pages? Are you going to do that for EVERY DC guy? ANd you open yourself up to abuse if certain ones are missing especially ones of color and/or sexual orientation.
The old message board was overloaded with spam. There were loopholes the size of Kansas for banned spammers and trolls to keep returning. They needed an overhaul. This new look isn't the best but is an improvement. Unfortunately they are just in beta mode. One good thing is that you can comment again on the blot. You'll need facebook but that removes the anonimity that cowards hide behind. It doesn't even have to publish your comments to your facebook page so your friends won't know you still read comic books.

The new site is very shiny and full of colors but it's a pain in the ass to navigate. I click on March 7 to see the comics avaiilable on that date and I get Aquaman #7 and Batman TDK #7. I hate the forums being gone too.

If you don't want your friends to know you read comics but want to post on the site, just create a fake FB account with your forum handle.

The problem is that if you have logged in your FB account and then you just close the tab and dont log off, you're still logged in wherever you go. Be it DC's site, porn sites with FB interface, etc.

Seriously, screw facebook. I dont want people to know i read comics. Unfortunately its a hobby looked down upon around here. I'd much rather click "like" on some porn site.

On the DC site they let you choose if you want your posts shown on facebook. For comments you can unchecked the "post on Facebook" square. For the "like" you can choose to not publish it by clicking "close" instead of "publish".

I don't care who knows I read comics in my real life.

I just don't wish for a co-worker to find some lame comment I make and then
posting it at work for the whole company to view.

That is why I don't keep a fake nose and pair of eye glasses in my pocket for when
I go to the comic shop, but wear it in cyber form on all the comic book forums.

i cant even use the site at work so they screwed themselves with the fans who like to post from work and home...and since they don't have a messageboard anymore...its a bye bye from me except to know what's coming out.

though i hope the biggest complainers *the ones who love to complain* are scattered to the internet winds and dont end up here.

I used to go to the DC Direct website to check out the upcoming figures
but this new "revamped ' site is horrible , its too hard to navigate , calendar of releases doesnt work
and it looks like something someone whipped up for a google blog
Hey!!!Stop ringing my bell! Are you a Jehova's witness?

I won't be bothering with new site.

It really ain't difficult to find out what comics are coming out by other means, and this Facebook tie-in just feels wrong to me. (Do have a Facebook account in theory... but haven't looked at it for years.... and really can't be bothered.)
