Can you tag out of the spec op mission when you run out of unstable iso-8 and go back to normal missions without losing progress in the spec op?

Yes you can.

On the Mission screen, you can tab between "Story" and "Spec Ops" and play either -- they're separate modes

Sweet thanks. Just beat the boss of the first mission, about to face off with Hammerhead after I get some more unstable iso-8. Not looking forward to the fight. 3 waves, team up with Black Widow and two scrappers at the end. I hope Hulk can handle it.

Oh, cool! it looks like some people got 600 unstable Iso-8 to start. I got 65. At least you can gift them.

I started about 35 unstable iso.

I bet she will be available for purchase after the 27 days are up. They just want people to waste money right now and to get 5 stars on all of them is a challenge though. back to electra farming.

Mockingbird looks great on paper, but I got my ass handed in the Wrecker battle where she is the Team-Up hero. I hit Wrecker, she turned into a Bruiser AFTER the attack, without receiving the Enraged Bonus, and one of the minions one-shotted her.

I had to Hulk and War Machine the Epic boss fight against Hammerhead. In the meantime, 1 and 1/2 stars. That's good after one day...right?

Also bought Thor. Funny how that got put off.

I lost that fight too. (Won it on the second try by bringing Hulk along for some smashing.) But... losing that fight does provide an interesting plot hint for the future!

Ugh, these spec ops missions are a pain, especially with my fairly limited roster. I haven't lost a fight yet, but I'm only scraping through - managing "Fair" for most of the fights, which doesn't bode well for getting five star ratings.

I know. It's extremely difficult. I'm resorting to all my high level characters.

I breezed through the fights thanks to the combination of Avengers Thor & Avengers Iron Man/Hawkeye. But my strategy fell apart in the Wrecker boss fight which you need to use Bobbi.
