I need to read the long halloween, it's embarrassing that I haven't. Luckily I can walk to the comic book store from my internship...Here is the solicitation for Batman #11, with the conclusion of the 1st arc and the back up story. I'm also very excited for it. http://www.dccomics.com/comics/batman-2011/batman-11

The main Batman book is a week 2 book, which means that every second Wednesday of the month it's released. As for Night of the Owls tie-ins like bakkabennu said, you won't miss anything plot wise if you don't read them. Most of them that I read were just ok, nothing too special imo. Nightwing #8 and #9 added most to the story so they might be worth your time and money. Also, just so you know, all the tie-ins will be collected in the Night of the Owls hardcover that will be released in February.

Ohhh. So the next issue will be around July 11 right? Hmmm. I just finished reading The Long Halloween. I was shocked at the ending. I just want to clear it up that at first, it was Gilda Dent who was doing the killings then after that, all the others were Harvey Dent? Or all the others after Gilda's were Alberto's?

Also, about the Batman Incorporated suggested in the first page of this thread, which one should I read? The new one released last May 2012? Or the old ones?

Incorporated vol.2 #1 is an easy jump on point, you'll be fine starting there #2 is out tomorrow. Then if you're interested you can go back and read the whole thing since it's all one big story (one of many chapters you can read on their own)

Long Halloween can't help with I don't even actually remember how or if the end makes sense. Like Hush the mystery is just their to drive a story with multiple guest appearances, it's not all that important or even well executed.

    Not even Jeph Loeb knows.

My reading is Gilda did the first couple and Alberto copy catted with the last few. I thought Gilda just thought Harvey was the second Holiday as a weird profession of his love for her - the child they shared. Creepy. Alberto had to have faked his own death, why Harvey's hair was wet idk. Maybe it was just snow.

Wow. This list helped me out a lot. I prefer reading trades in order, but I agree, you can pretty much pick up any batman trade and not be to confused about anything, and definitely able to enjoy it.

I've just completed all of the Morrison deluxe editions (about to order Inc, vol 1), and I'm beginning to wonder what the chances are of Morrison's other Bat books (RoBW and Time and the Batman) or the other parts of the collection (Bruce Wayne: The Road Home) into other collected editions. It seems like a helluva fun, and it was before I was into the books.

Any thoughts around here on that? Should I try to pick up those trades as they are or wait on something later on?

ROBW already is a Deluxe edition, so you can pick that up next, it's pretty good! The Road Home... I've read them and they're alright I guess. You can easily skip them. I only enjoyed the Red Robin issue since Tim was in Amsterdam. The others are just meh. I don't think we'll see a new release soon for Time and the Batman. It's now available in regular sized hardcover and paperback.

help me!!! sorry i am new here.

anyone had this problem with amazon.co.uk?
preordered the batman and son/black glove hardcover as it was known in feb. somewhere along the way it changed its title and a new listing appeared on amazon.
my old listing became currently unavailable. i kept getting update emails until 2 weeks ago. never got my book. as the current one is now out of stock at the moment.

how can i trust amazon pre orders??
the invisibles omnibus and simonsons alien art edition both have 2 listings. how can we know if one of these dies? i could buy the cheaper one then find they make that unavailable. for all i know amazon may create another listing so they dont have to honor a low preorder price my just making the listing i order unavailable. would be interested to hear if others have had similar problems. thanks.

Hi there. Buying DC collections can be very confusing on Amazon because they'll nearly always have two listings for each new release - one for DC's printing directly and one for Titan, who import and sell the books on DC's behalf. The books are identical other than the Titan copies will have a sticker over the barcode.

Long story short mate, this is the edition you're looking for - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Batman-The-B...1582794&sr=8-2

Now, I know it SAYS paperback in the listing, but trust me, this edition has NOT been released in paperback. Jesus, I can't believe it's selling for less than £13. Fantastic value for a truly gorgeous collection.

Now, as regards trusting Amazon pre-orders, you just kinda have to be careful with DC stuff because they're constantly removing and relisting upcoming DC trades. Having said that, I've read in many places that DC is no longer using Titan for distribution from later this year onwards, so with upcoming releases they may not be a problem. If you're still worried about it, pre-order both. You'll only be charged for whichever ships anyway and you can cancel the other.

It's not so they don't have to honour low pre-order prices. Amazon isn't as duplicitous as that- they'll straight up cancel your order and email you to let you know. They did this for me when I ordered Silent Running for £4 before its release on Blu-Ray. Creating a separate listing is way too much trouble for something like that.

Are they re-releasing Batman: Arkham Asylum in HC format soon?

They'll only be selling the old edition if it's on the page with that ISBN. Otherwise it'd be illegal. The page counts for US comics on Amazon are rarely accurate. Sure let us know how it turned out when it arrived.

No word on an HC version of Arkham Asylum yet but surely it's inevitable.
