Hey, I've just finished reading The Man Who Laughs and I've read Year One a few days ago. I enjoyed both a lot but some things seem not right:
    1. At the very end of Year One, Gordon says the police got some threats about poisoning the reservoir from someone who calls himself the Joker. First of all: How did they not know (in TMWL) what the joker intends to do? And second of all: In TMWL it says that the Joker did not call himself that way, but the police did. But in Year One, Gordon states the the Joker calls himself the Joker.
    2. Year One is the first action Batman had (right?). So if Joker is Red Hood (as Batman suspects in TMWL) then shouldn't there be some time between Year One and TMWL so Red Hood would fall into those chemicals and turn into Joker, and only then send threats to the GCPD about poisoning the reservoir?

Can someone clear things up for me? I'm a bit confused.. :S

A piece of advice: Do not; I repeat: DO NOT get hung up on continuity. The two books you read were written nearly 20 years apart, by different writers, in different eras. They aren't meant to perfectly click. TMWL is not supposed to be a sequel to Year One. They merely have a decent but loose timeline chronology. That's why many of us here recommend it as a good followup read, so there's some sense of forward momentum. But there are a dozen different stories about Batman and Joker's first meeting. This is merely the modern day one of preference for most.

I was wondering what issues are included in the Batwing volume 2 and 3? I read 0 is included, but I wanted to make sure. I left at 12 to jump on trades and don't want to miss an issue and I want to see when I can jump back on again in relation to trades.

The Zero issue is listed as contained in the Batwing Vol.2 trade, (I'm pretty sure all Zero issues will be in Vol.2 trades across the Batman line, with the exception of Talon).

You can check the contents of all other recent trades here

Year One is a far more influential and groundbreaking story than CoO and for that it will always be important to the lore and a great start to any new Batman reader, even if some of the small details are now "non canon", (which is something seriously not worth worrying about).

Hi guys and gals, I'm a long time Marvel fan (please don't judge me :)) and occasional DC reader among others. I've been collecting the New 52 HC of Batman and Batman Detective comics which I've enjoyed immensely and was wondering if anybody on here knew where I would go to find out when vol 3 of these excellent comics are due to be released?

I realize that vol 2 has only just been released (still waiting on Detective dropping through my letter box later this month), I was just wanting to pre order asap on Amazon.

    Many thanks in advance :)
