General AVX Speculation/Discussion *Spoilers*

My guess is that some of the Utopia X-kids will leave the elder X-men to joining up with the Avengers Academy, after seeing their elders go so ar and truly not caring for them, like Wolverine warned them all, for their fight with the Avengers and the Phoenix just makes the Utopia kids lose hope with the X-men overall.

I mean they cna't truly trust Wolverine to live up to his word and promise to keep them safe and alive, so some of them try their hand at Avengers Academy students for their own sanity sake while others just fade away into limbo.

What makes that sequence fun is the way McGuiness plays with Spider-Man, like the sideways angle in mid-air in the middle panel as the web is like a cowboy's lasso, or the way Cyclops beams fits right in the middle of that web circle in the final panel.

True, plus Spidey was being annoying and had it coming.

I was rereading KGs work on Uncanny and ran across something that's a bit depressing. During the Sinister arc, Sinister tells Scott that when all is said and done he loses everything he's ever cared about and the next time they meet Scott will be more hated than Sinister was. From some interviews and solicits for upcoming events we know that Sinister appears later in AvX. I want the X-Men to come out on top but stuff like this seems to suggest the opposite.

I think that's what they've been building up to over all these years, building Cyke up to tear him down. I don't necessarily think that has anything to do with the X-Men, or the Avengers, "winning." I'm betting this will end up with both teams joining forces to fight something else / Phoenix.

Somewhat related, a thought I had, perhaps Utopia gets destroyed? That's why the mutant "kids" end up at Avengers Academy?

I'm curious about "Pax Utopia" in AVX 6. It seems a clear reference to "Pax Romana"

The Phoenix chooses its host in AVX 5 and return to Earth in AVX 6. If the host is Hope or another X-men, maybe Scott will ask again for a disarm of the Sentinels. Or maybe, for fear of the Phoenix, the World goverments will commit to stop mutants discrimination.

Yes, of course that's the reference. I'm not sure how they are planning to fit that in here, unless it's an alternate reality thing. House of M was basically a Pax Romana for mutants.

It's a little odd to see Wolverine on the pro-human side after he started a school for mutants that prepares them for adulthood in a human world about as well as Hogwarts trains wizards for muggle jobs.
