Oh wow, Scott Lobdell, Howard Mackie, and Tom DeFalco all in one article and the year isn't 1995.
If we're only getting, say, Legion Lost, will the issue be worth reading without the others? Fingers crossed.
I like what Lobdell is doing, but DeFalco's scripting on Superboy was terrible, and I haven't heard good things about Mackie.
I am really looking forward to this! I actually started picking up Super Boy and Teen Titans just because of this huge crossover! I am currently on issue 3 of Super Boy(Didn't want to get to far in to this while not reading Teen Titans) and issue 1 of Teen Tians(waiting for my LCS to get more). And yes, can not wait for the ravengers!
I'm picking up Legion Lost with #7 in preparation for the Culling and to jump on board the series going forward with Defalco at the helm. Who despite obviously jumping in to help script Lobdell's Superboy script at a pinch did an acceptable job in my eyes, considering.
To be honest I've been waiting for Defalco to write something that isn't a homage to his past work in some ways. I absolutley loved his Fantastic Four back in the day and can't wait to see what he does with these characters. Hopefully the Cullign will give the book a new lease of life.
Also I don't recall the last time I was this excited for a crossover. Lobdell's books have by far been the high point of the DCnU52 for me. I'd forgotten what it was like to not be able to wait for the next issue of a book like I am with those.
All this has my completely psyched for Ravagers. The problem is I have such high expectations now I hope Mackie meets them. His work has been a bit hit and miss in the past but he was the guy who made Ghost Rider popular again and gave us the fun Mutant X series. Hopefully we will get that Mackie.
So guys if you are reading this. Thanks. This is exactly the type of comic books I've missed. Thanks for reminding me ho much fun they can be.
The addition of more Wilstrorm characters had me psyched...then I saw that Warblade redesign. Wow, seriously? At least Grunge looks like himself.
Batman, GL, Miss Fury, Uncanny X-Men, Hypernaturals, Witch Doctor, Casanova, Green Arrow, COPRA. +A bunch of trades every month.
I really wish Lobdell were not tying the Superboy and Teen Titans comics together so tightly. I'm not reading Superboy, have no interest in reading Superboy, wish Superboy was NOT joining the Titans in the future, and am concerned that I'm not going to get a complete (or even readable) story in Titans as a result of not reading Superboy.
Looking forward to Ravagers though!
I'm only going to be buying Teen Titans and the Annual myself since I have absolutely no interest in Superboy's solo book and I dropped Legion Lost after the second issue but I believe I heard that in order to get the "full story" you'll need to read the rest of the books involved. I'm hoping that information is wrong myself but even if it happens to be true I'm still not buying the extra issues involved. Between the second wave coming out and wanting to sample all six of those I simply don't have the budget for a couple of extra books in May especially ones that I have no real interest in. If by chance I feel like I'm missing something I'll just borrow them from a friend of mine whose a fan of both series.
I'm like you and I'm a little concerned about that too. I really hope they're not going to be tied together too tightly. I'm not reading Superboy now and I'm not planning to. In fact if they are tied together that closely I may just drop Teen Titans altogether.Originally Posted by santino27

Current Top Ten Comics: Earth 2, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Talon, Demon Knights, Transformers: Regeneration One, Young Avengers, Batman Beyond Unlimited, Nightwing, Flash, Aquaman
I was planning on picking this up anyway, as I'm loving TT and SB, and I want to read more Rose Wilson, but now I'm really hoping this crossover is awesome, simply because the creators' enthusiasm is so infectious!
It's cool to see writers who get along together so well and seem so much fun to interview. I hope that energy translates onto the pages as a really kick-ass story.
"Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder's eye on the Last Day."
I'm curious and I'm already reading Titans, but I'm not sure I can afford another two titles. Also why would the Titan's have anything to do with Superboy after he tried to kill them? Doesn't look like he's worth much.

I really dislike these crossovers which will not give you a complete story unless you purchase every part from every title involved in the crossover. I'd be happier if each title's part was readable on its own with the issues of the other titles simply enhancing that story. I'll still purchase the Legion Lost issues, but will be very unhappy if I can't follow the story simply from those issues.
I have no problem with the crossover, but i believe that if your only going to be getting a few of the issues and not the whole thing then it will probably be pointless for you... skip these issues and pick up the series your reading after the crossover s over... that or prepare to be disappointed.
I would say, despite the high ambitions, comparing their Harvest to Darkseid is a bit off in that the DCnU version appears to be less of a treat than he is a walking refrigerator that breaks things.
