Default The Amazing Spider-man (Video Game)

This game takes place after the events of the movie. So far, it's looking pretty good.

We've got a new trailer for a villain in the movie. Rhino!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-7qN9cohSU

Here's some information regarding a new take on him inspired by the movies.
    http://www.ign.com/wikis/the-amazing...man-game/Rhino

I gotta say, he's looking pretty damn good. The only thing that kind of bugs me with this is the dark and depressing tone they're going for in the movies. A character like Rhino would have been a great villain to insert some comedic value with, but they made him a confused, ferocious, rampaging monster. That's cool and all, but I'm hoping Garfield cracks a few good jokes with him at least.

Also, that IGN link also confirms Morbius is in the game, as a human at least. I'm assuming he gets bonded with bat DNA to get his powers like Lizard is bonded with Lizard DNA and Rhino is bonded with Rhino DNA. If they're going to keep with this theme, we'll probably get a bunch of animal themed villains. That throws in Beetle, Chameleon, Doctor Octopus (doubtful), Man Wolf, Scorpion, Vulture, and Swarm. And with all these animal characters, Kraven cant be far behind.

Another thing I like from that trailer is the fighting mechanics. Those moves looked great! They kind of reminded of Arkham Asylum because of how intertwined you get with the thugs. They did a good job with that. I'm pretty hyped for this game!

Also, I might as well put this trailer up since it pretty much confirms (what I believe to be) Spider SlayersL

Amazing! Also.. Sorry if I am wrong. Is that the world trade center in the picture? Also, the top link will not work. :(

Alright, the link should be working right now. As for that being thw World Trade Center, I hope so. It wouldn't be an accurate NYC without Freedom Tower.

I like it. Kind of reminds me of the older comics he used to hold web cartridges.

Never trust a game based on a movie property. The producers are just squeezing this out their butts to cash in on the buzz the movie creates and they don't get adequate time to actually build a decent game. You have to get it out the door by movie release day and movies can be made much faster than video games.

I wish Rhino would appear like he is in 616 or Spectacular Spider-Man, with the suit bonded to his skin, instead of DNA splicing.
Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Professor X, Mar-Vell, Richard Rider- Bring Them Back!!!

I kinda prefer him like this he looks much cooler and less like a Halloween costume gone bad

still this is a movie tie in game and 9 out of 10 times these type of games suck ass. Lets hope I'm wrong cause I would really like another Spider-Man 2 type game experience

I think Sucker Punch would be good at making a Spider-Man game, hell I loved the fuck out of InFAMOUS, I can only imagine what they would do with Spider-Man... or replace Cole with Surge and we have a New X-Men game :D

These are the same guys who worked on Shattered Dimensions and they had been working on this game in secret for 2 years before they even announced it. I think this game may be an exception, like Spiderman 2.

Then again, I always get overly hyped every time a free roam spiderman game comes out. Thats bit me in the ass 2 times out of four (Spiderman 2 and Ultimate Spiderman were awesome, Spiderman 3 and Web of Shadows were meh).

The Rhino redesign doesn't bother me and I actually think he looks quite cool (even if the human/rhino hybrid stuff sounds awful). But didn't they pull the "look at our brand new redesigned Rhino" in Spider-Man 2? And then the "look at our brand new redesigned Rhino" in Spider-Man 3? Yeah, there's only so many times I can look at a second-tier villain who probably won't have a huge role in the game before I get tired.

You know what I think would be a good idea for a Spider-Man game? A game where you play as the villains. Discuss!

I don't mind the addition of a belt, but this belt design kinda clashes with the whole costume

I'm skeptical of movie-based game, so I will wait for the review. I hope it will be great though. It has been too long since we have a good Spider-Man game

CBR News should post updates here, better than separate threads, thoughts are united, more gathering
Game looks interesting, but I will still reserve judgment

I wouldn't say never, some info says they gave this lots of thought and work, some say it was even in the works when SM4 was meant to be released, as a tie-in
    Some good movie based games:
Spider-Man 2 (among the free roam Spidey games and movie games in general, it has the best story so far)
    Spider-Man 3 (it's much better than Spider-Man 2 in gameplay)
    X-Men Origins: Wolverine
    Aladdin (SNES and Genesis)
Captain America: Super Soldier is decent

Who look down on SM3 miss out a lot of fun actually, sample, gameplay is varied with lots of tricks to find. The most underrated game ever (not a mere personal opinion, it was that way two years ago) and one of the good Spider-Man games (as in good-good, not decent-good or alright-good). Range of score 7/10 - 8/10 is fair without overlooking its flaws or being harsh on it

As for Web of Shadows; it's crap, color palette and some mechanics are enjoyable, but it's crap, crap crap crap, offending characters of the Marvel universe, it's a 2/10 nonsense
Looking forward to that crapfest -=the first Spider-Man game I looked forward to play since the ones on the PS1=- is the reason I have reserves about later Spider-Man games before playing them, and they are pretty pleasant so far, but I shall still reserve judgment

That cover could be much better. It looks a lot like one of the posters for the previous Spiderman movies.
