Thanks for posting the preview. I'm almost expecting the President to agree to the demands though lol considering how dumb the government has been written in this story thusfar lol.

The premise of that entire scene and discussions seems so wrong to me.

What a waste of good art.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

Are they going to put Renato Guedes covers on Acuna penciled books?

It would seem that, based on the end of New Avengers, the President must have agreed to their demands.

Okay - everybody who was arguing in those other threads that the government doesn't know Osborn was aligned with HYDRA and AIM?

HAH! If they didn't before, they did as soon as this meeting was set up.

The next line from Obama had better be something along the lines of, "I totally agree with you, Captain.", followed by the soldiers taking every one of those supposedly unarmed HYDRA agents into custody, freeing Cap, and interrogating them as to the whereabouts of their bases, the other Avengers, Osborn, all of that, or this storyline will be officially STUPID.

Of course, as pointed out above, it appears from New Avengers that it is that stupid. Since capitulating to terrorists and handing over worldwide security to them is a high crime and misdemeanor worthy of impeachment, I guess that by the time AvX rolls around, since the Avengers are clearly back in operation defending the world (albeit mistaken about how to do that there), that MU Obama will be gone.

If the president does agree to their demands he is definetly an idiot, how many times have heroes been captured by the bad guys only to escape. He must know that Cap and Co are just biding time till rescue, also how would they justify putting Osborn let alone Hydra, Aim, and tha hand in charge of world security.

Yea I don't get what leverage they have. Even if you want to believe the Avengers committed "War Crimes" (whatever that means). Hydra, AIM and Osborn himself are (or should be) wanted criminals. It makes no sense...you want to arrest the Avengers.. go ahead.. but you wouldn't agree to anything hammer is asking for.

President agrees, gets all of the Avengers back, and then sends them back out to take Osborn DOWN!

    That's how I see it.
Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him." Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me are people that think Final Crisis is good.

Well, they have the other captive Avengers as leverage at the moment, but so what? Superheroes escape captivity all the time.

Shoot, I'd be fine with POTUS pretending to capitulate, even to the point of pretending to arrest the Avengers (once turned over) and New Avengers, then taking them to the Raft to regroup and turn right around to go cream HAMMER with military backup. Hostage negotiators are under no onus to actually follow through with promises made to hostage takers once the hostages are safe.

EDIT: I see got ninja'd while posting that. Hope we're right on that, but I have no confidence based on how Obama's been portrayed so far.

Or the MU President refuses all of Hammer's "demands" since they're basically telling the USA to submit to their authority and basically change how the world is run.

Well, that would be the best and most likely response to my mind, as I indicated by saying they should not only tell Madame Hydra to suck it, but arrest her and her troops (if not mow them down with helicopter gunships or Predators). But it doesn't seem likely, given the government troops there to arrest the New Avengers at the end of their last issue. About the best we could hope for at this point is that, in the immortal words of Admiral Ackbar, it's a trap.

Speaking of which, the US military would have a bead on the base these guys came from at this point, since the moment the meeting spot was given the entire area would have under high-altitude recon.
