Default CBR: Covers of the Week -- February 15

This week, the Challengers face a living mountain, a crocodile chows down, the wall-crawler appears out of the blue, Matt Murdock meets the Moloids and a cub receives a perhaps-unwanted gift in CBR's Cover of the Week.

Default Spidey - out of the blue

While that Spider-Man cover IS indeed nice, the effect has been done many times over the years.

Most recently by Paolo Rivera for the cover of ASM 641, with the same blue background substitution for the blue of Spidey's suit and MaryJane's jeans. But Rivera's usage of the effect made more sense as it was a way of suggesting the vanishing from each other that the story was in the process of telling.

Another "recent" instance was John Romita Jr's ASM # 600, with the back of the nighttime city obscuring the black portions of Spidey's suit (which, is more accurate than red & blue - since the suit was originally designed to be red/black).

There have been many other classic uses of the technique on Spider-Man, but it was all started back by Steve Ditko himself waaaaay back in ASM # 28.

Otherwise, all your selections are excellent!
