Help! Claw of Horus Question

I keep reading that Jay Garrick went back in time to Ancient Egypt, but returned to the present with the help of the Claw of Horus. I don't have access to that volume/issue of JSA, and I can't find out HOW the Claw of Horus helped Jay return home.

Can anyone provide me with a brief description of how this was done? Thanks.

The Claw of Horus was created during the reign of Ramesses II in the 19th dynasty of ancient Egypt. It was created from Nth metal recovered from the downed Thanagarian space ship associated with Prince Khufu. The Claw was created by Nabu the Wise. The Claw was used to return the first Flash back to the present.

The entry also refers to JSA 20 - 22 (from 2001).

Wiki and the others all say that "The Claw was used to Send Jay back tot eh future", but in no listing of the Claws abilities does it say anything about time travel. The Claw channels the earth's Gravity to create on heck of a powerful punch. It also nullifies Nth Metal weapons. But no explanation as to how it can be used for time travel.

I am actually becoming very intrigued by this little mystery.

The claw didn't help him travel home.
He used his ability to "steal speed" from Black Adam(I think); with his permission; so that he could bring the claw to the future where it was needed to help resurrect Hawkman.
Mind you, haven't read this in years and am going from my sometimes shaky memory.

Wasn't the Claw of Horus used in Superman/Batman? Or was that a different weapon?

No, that was the Claw. I thought that was actually its first appearance. Didn't know it was in Geoff's JSA run.
