EDIT: And, to prove the above, it just happened again. I had this open for at least 20 minutes because I did not see the above post. Stupid tab browsing

Although they said that each issue can stand on its own, I'm getting them all!

    Cool ad! I'm really excited
"Criminals are a cowardly, superstitious lot." - Dick Grayson
"That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard." - Damian Wayne

Okay, related question: what's the chronological reading order for the stories?

We've seen that Detective Comics 9 takes place in the middle of Batman 9 . . . any other quirks?

Also, Catwoman 8 ends with the Owls and sets up the reason for her being involved in issue 9

. . . but she wasn't one of the "allies of the Bat" shown as being contacted by Alfred in Batman 8. (Neither was Batwing.)

Streamed reading order, anyone? So far I have it as:

    Batman #8
    Nightwing #8
    Batwing #9
    Batgirl#9
    Batman and Robin #9
Batman #9 ( You can read Tec' then read the last page and a half of the main story of Batman, but that doesn't really make a difference, IMO.)
    'Tec #9

I'm going off of a. the times in the left hand corner, and b. an order than seems stream lined.

    Thumbs up

Can anyone tell me if all of them are going to be self-contained one-shots?
Personally, I can't stand the issues that have nothing to do story-wise because they feel like weak fillers.
It seems that Catwoman might actually have something relevant to the title, Nightwing, and maybe All-Star Western. That doesn't mean I don't like one-shot stories, but when I am reading an ongoing, I expect an ongoing and not a one-shot. \
Any help on the matter would be great. THANKS!

I guess Teen Titans is not included seeing as thats not really a Batman book.

Tim should be in a Batman family book.

Would love to see a buddy book called "The Robins" with Dick, Tim and Damian, if only to see the Dick and Damian partnership again.

So far, I have this down as the chronological reading order for the crossover, but bits may change as more issues are released...

Batgirl #9 (Titled "In The Line of Fire")
Batman #9 ("Night of The Owls")
Batman: The Dark Knight #9 (Titled "Night of The Owls")
Batman and Robin #9 (Titled "Robin Hears A Hoo")
Batwing #9 ("You Have Been Judged Unworthy")
Birds of Prey #9 (Titled "Night of The Owls")
Catwoman #9 (Titled "Cops! Owls! And one Penguin. Oh My!")
Detective Comics #9 ("The Owls Take Arkham")
Nightwing #9 (Titled "The Night of The Owls featuring The Graysons of Gotham")
Red Hood and The Outlaws #9 (No specific title, and it appears they are going after Mr. Freeze.)

Doesnt Batman 1-8 have a lead in to the cross over and one-shots as well??

Tim is taking over an issue of Batman: The Dark Knight for the crossover.

I only have a few issues, but based on the "Night of the Owls" times first given in issues, . . .

    Batgirl 9 = 6:07 p.m.
    Batman 8 = 7:01 p.m. / "The Call" backup = 7:32 p.m.
    Batman & Robin 9 = 7:38 p.m.
    Nightwing 8 = 7:40 p.m.
    Batman 9 = 7:51 p.m.
    Detective Comics 9 = 8:26 p.m.

I was basing my list off of what time each hero starts to fight the Talons. I also started with Batman and Nightwing 8, because they were out the month prior.

Everybody has different ways . . . plus, some issues take place over longer periods of time than others.

And preferences can vary . . . even though many events in Batgirl 9 are set before Batman 9, you may still want to read Batman 9 first because spoilers:
Batman 9 showed Batman reacting to an owl symbol that replaced the Batsignal, but Batgirl 9 showed Commissioner Gordon first turning on the signal, and being told the Court had wanted Gordon to do that. Is it more effective to first be exposed to that in the Batman story or the Batgirl story?
    end of spoilers
