IDW re-discovered Chuck Jones' lost comic strip and made a book. Augie likes the book, even if the strip isn't so good. Also, is "Comic Book Men' any worse than "Big Bang Theory?"

I agree with you: it is no worse than the Big Bang Theory. The problem with your analogy is that they are both travesties that should never have existed. The Big Bang Theory is honestly the only show I have ever tried to watch that actually insulted me.
Crusader of Justice
I'm trying Big Bang Theory because I've heard so much about it and three episodes in I'm not impressed. If you want to watch a sitcom about geeks then you'd do much better watching The IT Crowd.
I have friends who watch BIG BANG and think that because I read comics that I'd love it, and I have to tell them that it's just not funny to me. I watched COMIC BOOK MEN too, and it was ok... I didn't expect to see people coming in trying to sell stuff. That part was kind of interesting. The rest of it wasn't that appealing to me.
Have you ever seen THE VARIANTS? It's a funny web-show that takes place in a real comic shop. Pretty funny! Here's episode #1
I'm also a HUGE animation fan and sold cels in one of the old WB galleries back in the 90's. I was kind of interested in this IDW book, but I didn't think there would be enough in it for me, especially for $50 - with or w/o the DCBS discount. I guess I was right. I'm sure there's some fun insight to be gotten from that book but I could probably get that elsewhere. I'd rather spend my $$$ on the Tom & Jerry collection on Blu-ray. ;)
I love BBT. It's hilarious and at least the characters are smart and even if they are geeks.
Comic Book Men is just terrible though, everything that's wrong with the comic book world.
Who really knows what the reality is in the world of comic book readership, but I don't see a sitcom as comparable to reality TV. Poor analogy, apples and oranges.
