Can someone explain to me how the court of owls crossover is structured? Every book remotely related to batman has " night of owls continues" but continues from WHERE? are all these issues separate? I don't want to buy all those books.
Currently recommending: Daredevil, Mudman ( it's back!), Hawkguy, and FF. Can't miss!
It's not continued anywhere, it's more like the Court of Owls thing impacts the other books.
All you need to do is buy the books you want to buy. The main story is obviously in the Batman proper book, so if you're buying that, enjoy it.
But, organically from the story, various villains attack members of the Bat-family, sometimes in their own books.
Every book can be read separately, and on its own. If you're not buying Batman proper, they've said, each issue will explain the basic set up in one way or another of why a "Talon" villain is attacking Batgirl, Nightwing, Jason, etc.
So there is no reading order. One book doesn't spoil the other(s), or it shouldn't.

I love that the trades all have different # of issues at different prices. Some are 6 issues, some are 7, some are 8. I think this at least shows an outward level of commitment to moving away from the decompression that comes with "writing for the trade".

It's not structured. The other comics are just joining in on the Court of Owls fun. You won't have to read any given book to figure out what's going on in another. This was made to be something of an optional crossover event, in which writers could come up with their own Court of Owls stories for their comics if they wanted.
Current favorites: Claymore, Birds of Prey, Black God, A Certain Scientific Railgun, Excel Saga
May is going to bleed me dry...
Batman Inc, Dial H, Earth 2, Animal Man annual, Batman annual, plus I have to see what JLD is like under Lemire, all on top of all the titles I usually buy...your the bane of my life DC![]()
Bit dissapointed that Shade looks like he's gone from JLD, but his replacesments are pretty cool.
Frankenstein crossing over with Animal Man? All right, this is going to be sweet. And it looks like someone who was curious about Franky's connection to the Red and the Black was right.
