It may be fashionable to not care for Batgirl here. But if there is any reasonable possibility she can help add to or at least stabilize sales, it's probably in the book's best interest to include her. At least until it hopefully more finds itself on the open market.

I am trying to like this series, but even with the addition of Batgirl, I still cannot get into it. It's like it has all the right ingredients, but the recipe is missing and stuff is just being thrown in the bowl. I found issue #6 very disappointing, art and story wise.

I think it's because this writer makes the plot the star and the characters are along for the ride, whereas previous BOP writers made the relationships between the characters the focus. That for me has been the difference, still enjoying the title though, but do wish for more relational dynamics.

You're both right - it's simply not true. The relationships and characterisation in this volume have been miles better than anything we've seen on the book for a number of years now.

Makes me wonder what title some posters are actually reading.

FINALLY got this issue....I was out of town so I was not able to get it till today, which meant saying far from CBR forums lol

I like this issue, I was hoping to see more Ivy since she was on the cover, but we did not see a lot of her lol, other then that....Batgirl got a one liner which is ok I guess and the story was great. I always love the writing in this book. Since the art was just Pina it was a little strange, but I liked it. I love the colorer (is that the right word ???) in this book and hope they stay on for the new artist since it might make me like the new artist a little better (the one from Animal Man I mean)

But ya good issue, not the best of the lot, but still good.

Well it seems like the response to this issue has been tepid at best, but it makes sense because all is calm before a storm hits and if Duane hold his end of the bargain well we’re in for a big shock come next issue. Hopefully its worth the six issue build!

Since I've enjoyed all the issues, it's already been worth it for me.

It was worth it for me just for Black Canary alone, but he needs to take the narrative up a notch for his first run of BOP to be considered a classic in my book. So far its needs that extra zing to make it really special, otherwise it'll be average at best.

And now for some random next-issue speculation. I think next issue Batgirl will be revealed as the Choke impostor, but Choke will get the upper hand on the Birds in the ensuing fight. The real Batgirl will ride in as the cavalry, having been contacted by Canary earlier to help flush out the impostor.

I have to agree with this, I've been suspecting the same thing the only thing thats making me doubt it is its perhaps a little too obvious.
