I remember an interview I read once with J. Michael Straczynski talking about some of the most amusing letters he received from Star Trek fans while he was producing Babylon 5.

One particularly funny one was from a fan that said he initially enjoyed the B5 universe, until he saw one of the B5 officers use a communication link attached to the back of his hand. He said the illusion was shattered then because it had already been established that the most efficient means of communications was a communicator attached to the uniform at the chest. This fan actually wrote J. Michael Straczynski to try and get him to make the show more believable, like Star Trek.

Ah, the "logic" of the most hardcore Star Trek fans always makes me laugh.

The multiplayer demo was a pleasant surprise. I've kind of become obsessed with it. I think it's because I'm actually good at it; I used to suck terribly at Gears of War's Horde mode. Maybe my obsessing over leveling strategies and multiple playthroughs on Insanity in the previous games are finally paying off. I think that I might actually pay for Xbox live just to play the multiplayer. The only down side is that I'm going to have to start all over with my characters when the game releases.

The Krogan soldier is so awesome, definitely my favorite race/class combo (Salarian infiltrator is probably my second favorite). Man I really want to unlock Drell and Asari. I've played as a human for hundreds of hours in the other games so now I want to play as an alien.

That's funny, because I can't keep the base because it is Martin Sheen. I can even come up with a different reason each time.

*BOOM #1* "That's for giving us Charlie."
*BOOM #2* "That's for giving us Emilio."
*BOOM #3* "That's for playing Bartlet."

    and so on.

I only kept the base in one ending, just to see it. I blew it up everytime since the games up to that point drive home the fact that Reaper technology is NOT to be messed with.

So yeah, I'm not holding out hope that James Vega will be in any way interesting. According to the demo, he's hero worshiping me worse than Conrad Verner.

On the topic of uninteresting male characters, I will only say that it makes a certain decision that is supposed to haunt you in ME1 an actual easy one. In other words, Ashley has a 5/6 survival rate because Kaidan just simply wouldn't be missed by anyone.

Also, choosing to use Jacob at a crucial point in the final mission did lead to the most memorable (and nastiest) death of any of my crew (in this case, Garrus). It's going to be interesting to see how badly I will miss Garrus in ME3 on that character's playthrough. I wonder if I'll be able to blame Jacob for that.
By your logic Super Mario fans should Hates Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo

heh....I read a great article in Game Informer about the mess that movie was to make....apparently there was a script that was very rooted in the game and fantasy based but the studio didn't want it....the two directors had only done commercials and were egomaniacs....Hosking and Leguizamo used to do shots before production started

Wanting to keep the base is nuts in the first place, given how much evidence Cerberus has of indoctrination. I don't know what's really going on with the Illusive Man, but wanting to keep the base sure does make it seem like he's been corrupted somehow by the Reapers.

Everyone involved with the Super Mario Brothers movie should be hated for participating in that mess. Bad movies are bad movies and they both had a large part in it being that bad. This movie is a major stain on both actor's careers.

Same with Freddy Prinze Jr, except he doesn't have the track record of good movies that Hoskins and Leguizamo have to make up for the awful movie he starred in.

Now I might be wrong. However, Vega's seemingly puppy dog devotion to Shepard gave me the impression that he's going to be one dull character. And Freddy's track record of highly dull and wooden characters is also a pretty big sign from the universe that Vega either will be as hated as Kaidan or as forgotten as Jacob for his dullness by the end of ME3.

That's actually my main issue with Dragon Age 2; they were so determined to be more like Mass Effect that you could no longer play as Dwarves or Elves. How much greater would Mass Effect be if you could play as a Turian, Krogan, Salarian, Quarian, Krell or Asari in the main game? Or a Volus! I want to play as a Volus ...

I really want to unlock Quarians and Salarians in MP. The Asari Adept is pretty good though. Has a melee attack that I think is area-effect. Looks that way. And she has a biotic dash instead of a roll, which takes some getting used to but it's fun because it's different.
