Nah, shep can die, the ending was shitty though.
If shep lived and everything else was the same, people still would have hated the ending.

He does live, in that one ending.

Anyways, anyone know when the ending DLC is coming out?

Finished ME3 last week. Obviously, I didn't get the best ending, given that I found out the damn "galactic readiness" rating was directly linked to the multiplayer aspect of the game AFTER I had finished the campaign.

And no, I didn't like the ending. WTF was that all about?

Goodbye León (november 16th, 1993 - june 12th, 2009). You were, are and always will be the best friend I ever had. I will always love you and never forget you. And please, please forgive me.

Thank you for teaching me about love, patience and caring. Rest in Peace, my friend. I hope that wherever it is you are now, you can run and play as much as you want.

Go back and find the post where I linked to the youtube video about Indoctrination Theory. Basically everything from the moment Shepard supposedly gets blown by the beam is a dream. There are lots of hints earlier in the game that Harbinger is subtly trying to indoctrinate you, the dreams especially, but this is where it really starts. Your actually unconcious and dying in the rubble but in your mind your waging a battle in your head over Indoctrination. Your given three choices at the end. You can make Saren's choice and choose synthesis. You can make the Illusive Man's choice and choose control. In either one of these cases the Reapers win. Or you can choose to destroy the Reapers and get the best possible ending if your galactic readiness score is high enough which unfortunately is only possible via multiplayer.
Price your book at $3.99 and I'll trade wait. Make me wait too long for the trade PAPERback and I'll say screw it. I'm looking at you Marvel and Spider Island.

    1) the indoctrination theory is just that, a theory. And it doesn't really hold up. Its more simple just to take the ending for what it is. Illusive Man is trying to control you, fails, and you have a last minute conversation with a star child.

    2) You don't need multiplayer to bring up galactic readiness. It goes up on your second playthrough.

That was not very helpful for my frst playthrough though.

True, but the only difference is a 5 second addition to one ending where Shepard takes a breath. Its not like this is a vital part of the game.

Really dumb contribution but: If you have an iOS device, you can also increase your readiness with ME app. At least it's free. >_>

Like Mike Pothier said, it doesn't accomplish anything though.

Thanx. I did wonder what those dream sequences were for. Anyways...

Thanx to you too. I'm actually planning to go at it for a second time.

Alright new endings are out, the three original have been fleshed out and a new ending has been added(a "do nothing ending," basically a "Bad End"). I've done the take control of the Reapers so far and its something I can live with, Hell I like it. Improvement over the original, some are still unhappy with it but you can't please everyone. Should have done this from the beginning.

I have it downloading right now. From what I hear, this is basically the type of ending they do for most of their games, but for some reason didn't in ME3.

I'd describe them as "good enough". There's still plenty wrong with them but they're fine. Good enough.

I definitely think there's an improvement. I haven't played it, just watched on youtube. (I don't have save that far, figured I'd get there by the release of the DLC but never did, and I deleted all my completed old saves.)

I'm definitely seeing a lot more people happy with it than not. And from what I've seen Synthesis is actually a pretty great ending if you don't mind dying.
    Bad news everyone...

I just find I can't be bothered to care. I played through once, got the ending I got..and I'll live with it.
