You'll a better man than I. As much I want ME3 I won't use Origin for it. I'm done with EA on PC.

The fact that pirates get a better experience than paying customers is messed up. As near as I can tell piracy is probably the only way to get the complete game on launch day.

In the future if I really want an EA game I'm going to buy it used on ebay and not buy any DLC. There aren't going to be any EA PC exclusives any more so I'll just get them for Xbox. (I know the days of EA singleplayer PC exclusives are over because they delayed Dragon Age: Origins for a year until the console ports were done.) I already passed on Star Wars: The Old Republic, but I just have to finish Mass Effect, once that's done I'll be free of EA.

You think thats tough? Try actually buying the game and then having to download a crack, and not feel like a sucker because you are on a site where you could have just downloaded the game.

I actually feel like a sucker a lot when I buy a game these days. The publishers know they have what I want and they know that I keep buying from them even though they treat me like crap (they also treat me like a potential thief). The only way to change their practices for the better is to make sure that we don't buy from them until they treat us consumers better. That's why on March 7, I'm starting my EA boycott.

Anyway, before I drown this thread in negativity, let me say that I just got a new hard drive for my 360, so I'll actually have space to download the ME3 demo tomorrow. I'm really excited. I'm going to start the download before I leave tomorrow morning, hopefully it'll be done when I get home. I know that when there's a high demand demo the Xbox Live servers get swamped. It took me hours and hours to download the Bioshock demo when that was released. Anyway, I'm pumped.

    Valentine's Day? Whatever. ME3 demo time~!

And reposting this from the other thread:

Question though: how exactly do you get the bonus content from Kingdoms of Amalur for ME3 (and vice versa)? I've read that you need to finish each demo to get everything, is that true, and do you get the items for both the demo and the full game (if you buy it)?

Also, to get the bonuses, do you have to not delete the demo file until you buy a full game, or will your account show that you've completed the demo?

This is why I hate these DLC schemes, they make everything needlessly complicated and they fragment the experience of the game. The KOA demo items aren't too bad because they're free and just there to get people to try KOA, but retailer exclusive pre-order bonuses, and dlc from Facebook is just excessive. We're coming upon a day when a new game will ship with one weapon on the disc and everything else will be either a pre-order bonus or release date dlc. Plus these bonus weapons will disrupt the gameplay balance, since you're supposed to have crappy weapons when you start and gradually find better weapons. You can't start the game with good DLC weapons; either they'll make the game too easy or they'll be crappy and thus they'll be useless anyway.

By the way, I'm sorry but I don't know the answer to your question.

I tried the Facebook app. I was informed "Sorry, there are no more codes."
It's DLC you jerks! It isn't like there's a limited quantity!

The KOA DLC is good because it gives you every weapon you could want right from the beginning, so if you want Chakrams you can just equip it instead of trying to get a random drop. The armor is good too because it gives you great bonuses to start with but you will soon find better gear, unlike dragon age II DLC which gave you a sword you never had to replace for a -long- time.

I just played the demo. OH MY GOD I AM SO EXCITED. I wish it was March 6, right now. A word of warning though, I thought the demo would just contain the intro and the first mission, but it also contains a later mission and there are some spoilers in that.

I wanted to try the muliplayer, but I couldn't get access to it, maybe because I'm don't pay for Xbox Live. Anyway I'm curious how it's going to work because you can still pause during combat in singleplayer. I honestly don't think Mass Effect needed multiplayer. I just loved getting lost in the world they built, and I find multiplayer tends to break the immersion and makes me more conscious of the fact that I'm playing a game.

The only downside is that you have to agree to 2 different terms of service agreements to play the demo. WTF? Also, apparently you'll need an Origin account (presumably for multiplayer but maybe even for the day 1 DLC that should have been on the disc) even if you have the 360 version. They're trying pretty hard to collect our personal information.

I've only played the Kingdoms demo to get the ME3 items, not vice versa, but you get one item for basically starting the demo (armour) and the other item (the weapon) for finishing the demo (hit the time limit where the demo times out). Both items are then tied to your Bioware/EA account (check under http://social.bioware.com/user_entitlements.php to see if they show up) so you don't need the demo files.

Experience for killing thing again, that's nice. And there are six levels to each ability instead of four, although each level requires one more point than the previous level just in in ME2. They still branch at four, though.

I played an Infiltrator first time through the demo, but that was a mistake as you don't get access to a sniper rifle in either mission. No point getting the sniper rifle time dilation power if you don't have a sniper rifle.

Had a quick look at Vanguard. Every class now gets a special grenade power, but in addition to that they have a new power called Nova which I think you can switch on to make your Charge more powerful at the cost of your barrier.

Oh, interesting thing - in character creation in addition to picking Shepard's background you can now also choose between Shepard having lost lots of crew or just either Kaidan or Ashley.

If you had account with Cerberus network you already have an Origin account. EA transferred all their accounts from their existing services to it months ago.

Demo was awesome. Also the Kinect voice commands works perfect. It was nice not having to pause combat for all the special abilities.
