    Default Mass Effect 3

The demo is officially out next Tuesday, and the Official Website Launched this week, so I figured it was high time a thread was created for this game.

For Xbox 360 players, facebook is currently running an app that gives you early access to the demo or avatar props if you win their decoder game. Here's the link:

I just won a code myself, and am downloading the game as I type this.

Thanks. I got a avatar item. Have to wait a couple hours to try again.

She appears, but not as a squadmate. Not a permanent one, anyway. I'm not sure if she's a temporary one.

I don't have Facebook, so I can't play their game. Jerks.

I've decided not to play the demo. I'm going to wait the 24 days until the game actually comes out. No midnight launch in my area, which sucks, but oh well.

Every ME2 squaddie (save for Garrus and Tali) are getting benched. From the looks, their roles will be about the size Liara's was in the Shadow Broker DLC.

Seeing how everyone could die in ME2. Joker and EDI should be the only 2 that are in ME3 as main players cause they made it out in all endings.

I'm excited for Mass Effect 3, but it seems like they're trying hard to extract every last bit of money out of us fans. There's the fact that it comes with EA's project ten dollar online pass, the fact that the collector's edition which costs $20 more includes an exclusive character and mission (I think everyone should get that and the 360 version of the collector's edition is not available for pre-order anywhere that I looked), Mass Effect action figures come with exclusive dlc, Gamestop is apparently already taking pre-orders for DLC and the game hasn't even been released yet, on top of all of that they rushed out a novel filled with continuity errors. Basically. if you want the full game on launch day, you'll probably have to spend hundreds of dollars. The best option would be to wait a year for the inevitable GOTY edition that contains the full game in one package, but I love Mass Effect too much to wait (and ME2 never got a GOTY edition on the 360).

Mass Effect is my favorite sci-fi universe and on March 6th I will be going store to store starting at 8 am looking for a copy of the 360 collector's edition, but I'm kind of annoyed at this situation. I don't care about art books, and lithographs I just want all the game content (and I feel I shouldn't have to shell out $20 extra for it). I have bought all the substantial DLC for the other games (meaning I bought things with missions not weapon or skins packs), but I was annoyed when I had to download content for ME2 on release day because I have a crowded 20gb hard drive, and this stuff should be on the disc.

What I'm really looking forward to is after a few playthroughs of ME3 I'm going to start a new character from scratch in ME1 and work by way through all the games and see how the decisions pan out.

Man, this is ridiculous. 50 tries later and I've got nothing. I told a friend of mine whos a fan of Mass Effect about this and he got it on the first try. Does anyone have an extra code?

I just found out that PC version of the game requires the use of Origin. This sucks royalty. Unless someone keeps up with a mod to remove it I'll have to put on my pirate hat. I refuse to install that spyware on my PC

Mass Effect 2 already requires you to connect to the Cerberus Network. Origin won't be that different.

It's nothing like the Cerberus network. Origin is EA digital distribution client. It's underdeveloped and I from the policies EA is enforcing with it I simply don't want it.

Origin basically will collect information about your computer and send it to EA who can then use it for marketing purposes. It's basically glorified spyware that you have to agree to in the EULA.

EA has ruined Bioware who used to be my favorite developers. If you have a console I recommend getting Mass Effect 3 for your Xbox or Playstation so you don't have to use Origin. If your saves are on your PC then I hold out hope for you that the game will eventually be released on Steam. I know that even if you buy the retail box you still have to use origin. I suspect that EA is using the high demand for ME3 to force people to use Origin. I'm so fed up with EA's practices that I've already decided that ME3 is the last EA game that I'll ever buy.
