Default Jesus Saiz new artist on Resurrection Man

Beginning with its ninth issue in May, RESURRECTION MAN will have a new artist: Jesus Saiz. Fresh from his run on BIRDS OF PREY, Saiz will pick up Mitch Shelley’s story just in time to pit the indestructible man against the Suicide Squad. Shelley may be incapable of death – but the Squad’s under orders from Amanda Waller, and “The Wall” is not one to accept excuses.

“Having Fernando leave the series is bittersweet, but gaining a talent such as Jesus will give RESURRECTION MAN a decidedly different look,” said series editor Brian Cunningham. “His style brings a very iconic superhero look. His heroes are very heroic, his villains are as nasty as they come. I can’t wait to get him started.”

“I’m going to miss BIRDS OF PREY immensely, although it’s also true that I was dying to work on the Dark line of books,” said Saiz. “There’s some very interesting stuff happening in these books, and I’ve always considered horror / creating dark settings are some of my stronger areas as an artist, and I really haven’t had many chances to flex those muscles working in this genre during my career. So…I think I’m really going to enjoy working on RESURRECTION MAN! Crrrrazy fun!”

Saiz’s first issue as RESURRECTION MAN’s new artist will be #9, launching in May. Check out the cover here on THE SOURCE.

I love both Resurrection Man and BoP but losing Saiz is a major blow to BoP. I hope it gets an artist as good as him.

Who's that blonde with the Squad? Is he another red shirt?

Judging from the suit, i'd guess he's Count Vertigo. He's been part of SS before.

Hopefully Javier Pina will stay as the regular artist in BoP.

They better get someone awesome to draw Birds of Prey, that series can't afford losing great artists like Jesus Saiz :(
On a different note, I like that it looks like Count Vertigo is joining the Squad.

I like Pina, but I hope not. BoP needs a big name artist or it will be cancelled soon

Like who? What big name artist do you think DC could realistically place in Birds of Prey?

    He should've kept the cape.

Amanda Conner, Amy Reeder (who most likely has finished drawing her Batwoman arc by now, she started drawing #6 last May I think), Philip Tan, Jerry Ordway... But please no Ed Benes.

I wouldn't be surprised if DC hired someone like Mike Choi. He's not a BIG name, but he's very well known for his Marvel work, he drew Uncanny X-men and X-force over there and now that he's moved to DC, he seems to be doing mainly fill-ins and covers, but he'll probably get an ongoing sooner than later.
Can't think of many others, maybe Phil Jimenez after he's done with his Fairest arc.

DC probably figures that the Court of Owls storyline coming up BoP can lose its artist and still sell okay. I'd honestly like to see them put a newer artist on the book but Pina would be a natural replacement.

Mike Choi on Birds of Prey would be amazing! I was never thrilled with Saiz on Birds, but he is a solid, consistent artist.

Default Ferndando Dagnino moves to Suicide Squad

Well that's good. Didn't like Dallocchio at all... just weird style that I never got into. Also, as I guessed, it seems one of the Lime Lights is the member to bite the dust next issue.

Looking at that cover makes me wish Ken Lashley was doing the interiors.
