Way too much talk about Hellion and X-23 for my liking but I'm excited for Karma to get more facetime.

I gotta say Northstar actually looks badass on that cover. Whoa!!! Gambit and Iceman must be rubbing off on him.

Perkins delivers on the individual characters though that cover didn't wow me. But that's being nitpicky, the inked promo art we saw when this series was first announced kicked so much ass!

Liu's cast is the biggest breath of fresh air in the books right now. Her picks for each character's involvement seems well thought out (Karma being involved and important is a nice choice) and her delving into Northstar: In love- will be a fun read. Kyle is the new Candy Southern! yay!

If anything I'm into this for the X:Men meets Moonlighting feel that this books is shaping up to be.

I think you got your order messed up in this sentence.

It was disgusting the amount of time given to these characters in the interview. Their time is over, sheesh, stop living in the past. The future is bright. The future is Warbird.

    Exactly.

    Two major issues with this,

    A. the background idiots on the cover obscuring Warbird's spotlight

    B. Perkins' costume sketch, just what the hell kind of footwear is she wearing?

Im gonna give this a shot. Mainly because of the choice of characters, plus I want to see what Liu can do with a team.

Have to say it was a tough decision and the book will have to be of a high standard if I'm going to get it monthly due to the $3.99 price.

I know the book has been this price for ages but this is a new creative team. it might as well be a new book. How about giving this new creative team it's best chance Marvel and not rule out the potential fans that draw the line at $3.99.

My only other gripe is I still think this team needs a clear mission statement. Not that I mind that much due to the characters but it's current mission statement seems to be we don't want to cancel Astonishing whilst it's still selling.

Sabrewulf, there's ZERO margin of error for me with this. I love this Warbird, but I won't hesitate to drop this HOT if I see unnecessary spotlight shifted over to these more venerable warhorse characters (that honestly should have been sent off to the glue factory by now). Your thoughts, Sabrewulf?

From the interview "These characters come together because they happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time -- but what happens as a consequence of their trials together will make them a team. "

I'm actually surprised she answered my question.

This could be good if she tones down the Gambit stuff.

    1) I'm so glad to see Karma on an X-team with stars like Wolverine and Gambit. I have noticed, however, that she's never really had a major love interest. If you get the chance, is giving Karma a girlfriend something you'd be interested in?

    Wait and see!

Karma is going to get over her lesbian phase and fall for Gambit's charming powers.
