    That sounds brilliant.

Wow. Green Arrow is going to have a thoughtful writer for the first time in a while.

Very excited about it. It looks like this one is going to move up in quality hugely, probably the biggest jump of any of the new 52 replacements thus far.

Huge, huge get from Harras and Co.

Yeah I am really excited for this. Great interview. I love steampunk so I am really interested to see how they incorporate those sensibilities into the art and story. The villains sound cool and Nocenti sounds like she has a really good sense of where to take Green Arrow.

It's a shame they didn't just launch the book with this creative team. Agreed, this looks like the first time Green Arrow will actually be a good book in like, forever.

Also pretty excited for this. I think the part of the interview that made me happiest was Nocenti literally saying "No, he's not Batman!" That's always been one of those criticisms that holds Ollie back, even if it is outdated.

I like the sound of Skylark's father. Should be an interesting character and a step up from what we've seen in the first six issues.

And I had never thought of the communication barrier between Nocenti and Tolibao, but that's interesting to hear about. Still not sure I'm 100% on board with the art, but if it matches the story and Nocenti's vision, it should be more than adequate.
Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

With all due respect for Mrs. Nocenti. This book about this pseudo-Oliver Queen still couldn't be of less interest to me. The writer still sticks to this sorry piece of ... relaunch, so who cares, really?

It's interesting that, despite the 'not Batman !' comment, all I could think of with this first villain was Hugo Strange (well, after Dr. Moreau, but..)

And he's not driven by pain. He doesn't have deep pain, he doesn't have childhood trauma. A lot of superheroes, especially the vigilante types, get the juice from painful moments. Most villains do too. He's not like that; he's basically a well-balanced, happy guy!
And with that comment, I too am a rather happy guy.

Because she's moving past it and is trying to give the book a new status quo?

I'm looking foward to the new creative team. Hope the team sticks for awhile too.

Additionally, she's made it clear that she's building UP to the classic Ollie.

This is like some "Lost Years" story that fills in the gap between the original Green Arrow Billionaire Batman wannabe and the more interesting character he eventually became.

I'm pretty excited to see that explored by someone as smart and socially conscious as Nocenti.

    So he's Lucien Gates.

I kid. Great interview and I like steampunk too!

Yeah I've felt that's the perfect way to go, considering how inconsistent Green Arrow has been.

    You beat me to it.

I'e no interest in the DCnU. That ship sailed for better or worse a long time ago. I just read the articles for the writer's view points. No point in complaining about other people enjoying it. Just vote with your wallet.

    Free market and all that.
