A 10% off coupon would only hit my radar as being important if the item was at minimum already 45% off.
Unless it's Man-Thing which likely going to be the first omni I pre-order since I've been getting Omnibus editions.

Hey man, when the alternative is just 25% off cover price the extra 10% off is real sweet.

In other news, I'm about a quarter of the way through ASM Vol 2. I just love this stuff. Its hilarious how as soon as MJ came into the strip Gwen Stacy was left in the dust, you can tell Stan and Johnny are doing everything they can to keep Gwen involved but whenever MJ is around she just fades into the background. I don't think I've ever seen something like that in a comic before.

Well my books from Amazon came in just now. Xcutioners song didn't come shrinkwrapped but I went through it and no issues so I am happy. NationX and House Of M : No More Mutants both came shrinkwrapped. The only "issue" I found was NationX has a remainder mark but for 5 dollars I can't complain.

Not bad for 35 dollars total

Yeah you almost have to feel bad for Gwen because her characterization got dropped like yesterday's trash when MJ showed up. Since I haven't read most of this era it will be interesting to see what they do with Gwen that makes Peter so head over heels for her. There is still a decent amount of issues before "the bridge incident" but it better be a quick turn around because I am just about done with volume 2 and I just don't see the spark.

After seeing the Avengers movie, a friend of mine whom never heard of thanos before is interested in reading some books with him in them. I'm not really sure what to recommend him. Are there some good HC or TPB thanos story out there?

It's incredible, in Amazon most of Thanos related books are in a "Usually ships within 1 to 3 weeks" status. The demand must be overwhelming.

Last year I just read Silver Surfer: Rebirth of Thanos and The Infinity Gauntlet, those are a great way to get introduced to the character. You really should read Rebirth Of Thanos (that includes Thanos Quest) before Gauntlet. Unfortunately (at least in Amazon) they are not currently in stock. I've loved Thanos Imperative and the Annihilation saga, but Thanos shines with much more prominence in the Gauntlet saga

Wait until it gets on a mega sale. $50 for 7 issues is absolutely ridiculous.

I finished the Warlock Masterwork vol 2 two weeks ago and it had lots of classic Thanos. Got to say I really liked it! Starlin was a great storyteller and illustrator.

Damn you all for the Mighty Thor Omnibus (silver age) talk RE: going out of print. I could have picked up this book for <$60 last weekend! As it stands, I just purchased mycomicshop.com's last copy for $79.99. Hope to flip it for a profit in the next few weeks.

Also picked up the ultra-rare Death & Return of Superman Omnibus for cover price as well. Glad to have that one back in my library. I'd sold my sealed copy off years ago. Glad to have it back.

As far as I know that was one of the reasons she was killed. Her character and her relationship with Peter weren't very interesting, while MJ stole the show.

How rare is this really? Just asking because my local BAM has had a copy on the shelves for the past two years... slightly beat up cover-wise, but with one of my 50% off coupons, it would still be cheap. I read the separate trades (Death, World Without, Return) years ago but I understand this omnibus cuts out some of the issues?

No, let's kill her, THEN change her 25 years later to make the "bad guy" more interesting!
