This is about the same for me. Basically, buy it now for cheap because I have interest in reading it at some point, and if I finally get to it and don't care for it, I can deal with selling it (as opposed to searching for OOP books!). That, and with constant sales from Mile High, B&N, ToW, CGN, LCS, Ebay, and general "need to have it now!" feelings, I'm currently at a 1:5 reading to buying ratio now--basically, for every book I get through, I have five arriving. Not good for people with limited space...

Damn, thought you had an inside source haha.

TOD v2 is actually the only book in my bookcase I haven't read yet so I'm completely up with the play. On the other hand my mini bookshelf has almost 60 fiction books that I'm yet to read lol

It may be just semantics, but when does your collection become just your inventory? Who here really loves reading these oversized books? I know I read them or some book most nights of the week.
For me it is just way too much stuff from the last two years of going nuts.

Originally I was not going to expand into OHC's except for a few X-men and Avengers.....well the MHC 60% off sale changed that.

Then I expanded into Absolutes to make things even worse as far as trying to catch up. The books are being read at a slow pace but they are being read.

Already not ordering any new OHC's this year (except Fatal Attraction and Zero Tolerance).

I do not even have Punisher, Secret Warriors, Ultimate Spider-man, New Avengers, Zomnibus or The Stand pre-ordered and not going to unless I can get them at 50% or more (60% for The Stand). So unless B&N has another great coupon or InstockTrades has a few of them at 50% off when released I will hold off and wait for end of year sales from TOW and CGN.

Just trying to slow things down.

If I had an inside source I would have Uncanny X-men Omnibus Vol 2 & 3, Avengers Assemble Omnibus Vol 1 & 2 and Annihilation Omnibus Vol 1, 2 and 3

speaking of too many books.... I need some new book cases.

Ideas? I've been thinking about just building some out of hardwood, definitely will be cheaper....but I dunno. Omnis, Absolutes, HCs and even tpb tend to sag these fake plastered wood things i've been using....i'm afraid they're gonna break soon.

I think that Fatal Attractions book is going to be amazing. Especially with 30 pages of bonus content.

Not sure if this was posted, but the Dark Tower Omni has been steadily dropping in price the last few days on Amazon, and is below $60 right now. Those who missed out last time Amazon did this a few weeks ago have another shot.

I honestly wouldn't have been so interested in OHCs had it not been for the MHC $5 sale last Christmas, in which I got several OHCs. Those sales really are a gateway drug.

Several big sales have caused me to continue buying and buying, even when I had everything that was for sale. It becomes very addictive.

I've got a very GOOD inside source at Marvel and even he says he can't figure out the collected editions department.

Here's something that bewilders me: Why there's not more John Byrne OHCs.
I know Byrne reprints still sell a lot of books for Marvel, so it would just seem logical that they would put a lot more Byrne material in OHC.
I really think the recent Marvel Team-Up TPB by Claremont and Byrne would have been a good fit for an OHC. Iron Fist by Byrne would be a great fit. Alpha Flight would look so great in OHC (or, even better, an omnibus, but, that may never happen).
