I'm of the opinion that 95% or better of the Omnibus/MMW buyers are exactly that hardcore Marvel fans in the first place. Hence why they also chose Avengers The Crossing when one could argue there are half a dozen better 90's era collections to gather.
These formats are not entry level. If someone were to exit a film and ask for a good X-Men, Spidey, Hulk or Avengers collection you'd, I think, point them to a standard 6 issue floppy for $15-20 and perhaps tell them that online retailers have them for 10-30% off many times vs a box store. Hook them, not push them away with a $75-125 Omnibus.

I don't know anyone but hardcore fans that would buy a $100+ book.
Im hearing that ASM vol 2 is already OOP. Is that true?
No, you can still find copies everywhere. Just maybe not the Romita cover.
BD.com has Mutant Genesis 2.0 in stock at 28% off: 27 EUR.
Since the 10% coupon ist still valid, that'll make it less than 25 EUR.
Still a way overpriced book, but seems to be the best deal outside of the US for those who are interested.
Actually over at the MMM website they posted a thread of titles going OOP for all lines and publishers.
The Ramos cover of ASM Volume 2 is listed as one of them. So while yes it is still very easy to find a copy right now, the distributors themselves may be sold out so once Amazon, TOW, Instocktrades etc… sell through their copies they will not be able to order more. B&N already has it listed as 1 to 2 weeks shipping (Then again it is B&N).
This happened last weekend with Thor Vol 1and Captain America Vol 1 with those great Free Comic book day 50% and 55% off sales as Hachette had no more in the warehouses to send out and the sales accelerated the process of going OOP.
ASM Vol 2 could be OOP in the coming weeks as the stores run out of what they have. So if you are planning on getting this title it would be wise to do sooner and play it safe.
Edit: Gormuu meant to write Romita cover so this title is not in danger of going OOP

Titlles listed in that thread for OHC's and Omnibuses going OOP.
Again, does not mean you still can't find some at a great price but if the warehouses are out (Diamond & Hachette), once the stores are out, they are out. Then the secondary market prices start climbing depending on the title and popularity.
