True, but I rather give a shout out that a title is going OOP and have people on here get that Omnibus before it does truely go OOP and then have to pay a higher price in the secondary market. True some lurkers will benifit but it will still help out a few regulars on here.

Im sorry that is garbage. There is NO reason it couldn't have 30+ issues. It will likely have that stupid $125 coverprice, too.

Of course, here comes the apologists saying that when you consider the fact that it has 3 masterworks at $75 a piece its a good deal......

    Guess what?

    Ill still buy it...
LOL....so will most of us but doesn't it have 30+ issues when you count the annuals?

I belive it does, however seeing this just makes me want vol 3 now even more. I cannot wait to see the Paul Smith run in gorgeous oversized glory. When I was a kid reading those issues, I didn't like Smith's art, it was a jarring change from Cockrum but as an adult, I fully appreciate it for all it is. Smith's style got more cartoony in his later work (his more recent work on X-Men Forever was more Leave it to Chance than his X-men work).

That seems like alot of work. Obviously Im not the one doing it so it probably shouldnt matter but im content with it just listing release dates. Plus people will quickly learn if it's oop by seeing the cost of a book. If it cost more than the cover price than it's probably oop.LOL

LOL....I remember that as I felt the same way.

The Omni EVERYONE on here has been excited about getting arrived at my doorstep last night. Avengers: The Crossing in all its glory. In fact I think it was glowing a little bit as I opened the box as the room got brighter for a minute.

In all seriousness I know many of you are passing on this, but I could see about getting some pictures posted tonight if there is any interest. I didn't open the shrinkwrap yet, but on the back in bold letters this is written: "ONE OF THE NINETIES MOST NOTORIOUS NARRATIVES!"

I for one DO NOT want to know which omnis are about to go OOP. I'm weak and seeing that would MAKE me buy stuff that I originally did not want...

I almost got one during this last sale craze but I have hears it's VERY hard to get through writing wise... guess I won't have to worry about it now LOL

Better to get them as theyre going oop than when they are oop....saves you money in the long run

And on another not, I really really really hope the current run on the Ultimates lasts long enough to receive an omni. it's fantastic so far.

I've found it was the hardest to get through out of all the Silver Age books I've read (which isn't a ton, but enough to get "used to" the writing of the time).
I think while most SA books are tainted by what we have read over the years and our interpretation of the characters NOW, Thor is really effected by this. We are used to Thor being one of the top 5 (I'm guessing) most powerful entities on Earth in the MU. He can handle practically anything, but in these early stories he has a very hard time against people like Cobra, who would be a C or D list villain nowadays. I think they were really trying to make Thor more human, more susceptible to things, in order to make stories more dramatic, so there was the plot device of "if the hammer is out of his hands for >60 seconds he reverts to weak & frail Don Blake." This device was used time and again and it gets old after awhile.

that's what I had heard which is why I avoided it... I hated Silver Age Cap so I didn't figure I would like Thor any better

the run did have some cool covers though but it wasn't enough to make me want the book

True, if your goal is to get them all. The ones I want I buy (or preorder) immeadiately. And I've noticed myself to be very easily persuaded into buying books I normally wouldn't, via reading this forum I mean. Joking aside, the idea of listing books that are about to go OOP is a good idea, I just need to stay focused and not get into things caused by buy-it-now-or-you'll-regret-it-later type of hysteria

The American version won't use the same mapping, it'll have some extra issues. When it eventually comes out over here it'll be almost 900 pages and have 33 issues.
