I have no idea what Bendis has in store for us, but I do hope that it has nothing to do with Peter Parker. There will be rabid fanboys from both sides of the argument gloating about how they "called such-and-such" and I don't know if I can handle that.

I'm a little nervous about having an event so soon after the creation of Miles though. The drastic changes to a character that events usually bring might not work for Miles since he's such a young character. In a way, it could sort of mute the event from the potential it could have if we had a few more arcs to really get into the groove with Miles.

I remember a while back at some convention or panel a fan asked if the Peter Parker that was dating Gwen after Ultimatum was a fake Spider-Man, and Bendis said something like "Maybe..."

So if he chooses to have Peter Parker alive again he could easily say that the one that died was some sort of replica Peter that was created through the magical explosion during Ultimatum and the real one was trapped in Nightmare's dimension... or something...




Maybe Ganke just puts on his halloween costume and voila; Spider-Men!

I'm like one of the 4 people on these boards that hopes this means the return of Peter Parker, but I won't get my hopes up. honestly, I haven't read an Ultimate comic since Peter died and I don't plan on it, but this might change that, depending on how it turns out.

and to those who say that Bendis claims to have "years and years of stories for Miles", yeah...well he said he had notebooks upon notebooks of ideas for Peter and we all know how that ended.

not saying that that means anything, just pointing out that it means nothing.

For now, I'm going keep the excitement of this announcement down by remembering how the trailers always lie such as the case of the teases that were the solicit and variant cover of Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #6. While this does excite me at just what this could be, I'm gonna hold complete excitement until we get more news on this.

Holy crap, this is awesome news. Here's hoping for a sane scorpion clone, Jessica, Miles team up. If the real Peter turns out to be alive, I'll never trust Bendis again! Although we never saw Peter's body...
