NO LONGER ACCEPTING NEW TEAMS

Alright, I presume everyone knows what this is all about, but in case there are newcomers: in the Rumblers League, you recruit characters and items from a predetermined list compiled in previous games. Each character and item costs a certain number of points, and you are given a set number of points at the beginning to spend for recruitment. There will be a draft thread made, in which each person goes one at a time in a specific order purchasing characters and items, until they are out of points.

In order to play, you must submit a full strategy to me and my back-up posters by at least the night before your match is up, and I will post the strategy when I post the fight thread. If you do not have a strategy in on time, you will forfeit the match in a void and not gain any points. If you void more than three times in close proximity, you will be booted from the League, and subsequent matches against your team will become byes for the opponent. Ergo, don’t join unless you know you can hack it, and your foreseeable schedule can allow it.


On the Draft:
-You may pick anything from the list, up to 10 point items. However, you are only allowed a maximum of three 10 point items or characters. You can purchase them all upfront, or you can hold off and save one 10 pointer for later.

-Obviously, you cannot recruit a character who has already been picked. However, as with the previous couple Leagues, this also goes for items; once an item is purchased, it is no longer up for sale. The only exception is if an item has a variable, such as "Adamantium Sword of Choice" or "Real World Car of Choice." If a poster choses, say, an Adamantium Katana, then another poster is allowed to chose an Adamantium weapon, so long as it isn't another Katana. Note that this variable can only be used once per team, so you can't just pick a dozen Adamantium Weapons.

-Only one team per person or group.

-You will begin with 120 points per team. Every team will earn 3 points at the end of every match, win or lose. Starting with week two, you will allowed to make further purchases from the Draft list or Store, using the points earned from the previous week. You cannot trade characters or items in after the fact, so make sure you want what you pick.

-You must have a minimum of five characters per team or a maximum of ten. This is after you factor in possible fusions or multiplication effects.

-As in previous Leagues, you can create a "Pseudo-Original Character" by combining items together, for example, fusing the All Spark with the Batmobile to create a Batmobile Transformer. Only one POC per team.

-In addition, you may now create one fully Original Character of your own. This character will be automatically part of your team. Creation guidelines will be detailed in the next post.

-You may also create Original Items, however, they will be placed in the Store, and be selected by any player during the draft. Creation guidelines will be detailed in the next post.


On the Game
-Every team will fight every other team twice in a full tournament. There will be a one week break halfway through.

-Every week, half the matches will all begin on Monday for voting and discussion, and will end on Wednesday night. The second half of matches will begin on Thursday and end on Saturday night. Sunday will be the off day, or will be used to make up a day incase for some reason the match posting is off by a day.

-I will not require Strategies to include scans, but understand that without scans, video clips, or other such evidence, your Strategies will not have much weight behind them. For example, you might claim that Superman can move the moon, but unless you can provide hard evidence thereof in the form of a scan or a video clip, the validity of this statement can, and probably will, be questioned, and that will cost you votes.

-It is recommended that before the Draft, you begin to compile evidence on the characters you want, this way you are not stuck three matches into the game, still struggling to find scans. At the very least, preparing a good character profile with several good evidence links will provide a solid foundation to work from.

-Discussion of matches is encouraged, but if you have a hard time coming up with questions for the players, you should at least explain your reasoning for voting. Players put a lot of effort into creating strategies, and it’s rather annoying when someone just votes without giving a reason, especially when that vote is against you. So try to be involved.

So, sign-up if you are interested. A group of 8 teams would be ideal.

Also, I would like at least two back-up posters to assist me. Unfortunately, my computer and internet connection, while usually reliable, have a nasty habit of crapping out on me at the worst possible times.

CREATING CHARACTERS
Each team may be allowed one original character, which will be automatically included in the team. This goes even for teams controlled by a group, so if there are two or three of you running one team, you'll have to decide whose OC you wish to use. OC profiles should use the following format:

NAME
Powers and Abilities: Required. You should describe your characters powers in comparison to pre-established characters. For example, you should describe their strength as "Superman level" rather than just "Class 100." This is necessary so that, for the sake of providing evidence in your strategies, you can use a pre-existing characters' feats in place of your own.
Personality: Required. League battles are bloodlusted, but still in character, so your character's personality, or lack there of, is necessary to know.
Background: Optional, but if your character has an interesting story to them, you might want to include it.
Feats: Not specifically necessary at the time of creation, but it may help to compile a baseline of feats, with scans to support such claims. For example, claiming your OC can lift a small mountain overhead, and then showing a clip of Superman or Captain Marvel or some such performing such a feat.

Do not make the character more powerful than the current 10 pointers. The value of the character is subject to peer review. I would prefer an OC be as complete as possible prior to submission, so that constant editing doesn't screw up assessment attempts. I reserve the right to reject any character who is too ridiculous.


CREATING ITEMS
You can create as many items as you are allowed to submit, should you so choose. All Original Items will be placed into the League Store, where they will be up for grabs by anyone during the Draft. You must create a detailed profile of the item, similar to those done on the wiki. You must describe the item's abilities in exact detail. If it helps, you can also use analogous description, using scans of pre-existing items for reference, for example, describing a magic sword as having "Adamantium level durability." Original Items should use the following profile format:

A COUPLE IDEAS I WOULD LIKE OPINIONS ON

1) I would like to try a new item strategy: the Inventory. In this model, all items are now considered part of the team’s “inventory” as a whole. Just before each match, the team members will be able to pull from this Inventory any of the items the group has. This means, any character could access any item in the inventory per match, so players won't know in advance what character has what item.

This also means that each strategy must specify in the beginning which character is using which item. I understand this may end up being rather complicated, however, so let me know if this seems like a bad idea.

EDIT: Actually, I can already see how this might cause problems with making Strategies. Still, I'd like to see some thoughts on it anyway.

The only way it would work is if you told your opponent which of your characters would be wielding which items before they wrote their strategy.

And if you purchase an item on a Thursday after your match, and your next match starts on the Monday, your opponent may have already wanted to start writing his/her strat before the Thursday, which will be very difficult with new items coming in and existing items being switched around.

2) As you all know, I'm kind of a nut for full on Original Characters. I know they were ditched after the first League, due to being ridiculous and hard to judge, but I still like the idea of allowing at least one per team, and using pre-existing characters to describe their powers. Ergo, an OC as strong as Superman would rely on scans of Superman to prove their strength. Silly, but hey, I think it has merit.

Still, if you think OCs are more trouble than they are worth, I'll take the advice and leave them off.

I wouldn't personally embrace it i.e. I wouldn't have any OC's of my own, but I'm not at all against the idea of having them as an allowable option.

Yeah, good point. Honestly, the more I think about it, the less I like this idea, so I'm gunna go ahead and scrap it already.

Bobisbeast and I have considered and more then likely will team again as a duo this time unless he says anything of a third. My connection is help on wheels so sorry I cant do any real backup on anything although I'd would if I could. Maybe when they finally run wires down the road but thats no time soon as much as I wish it otherwise.

To suppliment this, I may also allow the creation of Original Items. Maybe. OCs would automatically be part of their creators teams, but OIs would be up for grabs in the draft, just like regular items.

I hadn't seen this. I like this idea.

All I would say is this;

I suggest that whoever adds them would have to make a detailed profile on the Wiki site for any items they add. Then you could link the item to this profile on the item list, with links to images of comparable feats etc, just like the profiles Estrecca provides.

i.e. The fact these would be original items should be compensated for with incredibly detailed profiles explaining and illustrating EXACTLY what the items were capable of.

It's definitive as far as playing goes for me and for him and I'm 95 % certain as to the teaming up as well. Giving that 5 just in case anything comes up between now and the start.Just did not broach the subject yet of a third is all. The OC is interesting although not sure yet as if I myself personally would roll with it giving the limited time I have to get on at times. Not saying I don't like the option because its certainly intriguing.
