Azzarello and Bermejo doing Rorschach sounds intriguing, but the rest I'll probably skip.
There's no way I'll read any of the JMS books.
I want to be disinterested in this, but I am all over Azzarello and Berjermo on Rorschach
Reading this week: The Unwritten: On to Genesis, Hellblazer: Scab, Mountaingirl collection
Knew it. Kind of underwhelmed by the "news", but those creative teams look nice. Bermejo, Jones, Cooke... all among my favourite artists.
Rorschach and Comedian look like the best of the bunch to me.
I. AM. THE. NEW. GOD.
Across countless worlds, for countless eons, not a voice is raised in hope or joy.
Across these worlds, these infinite lands throughout the cosmos, there is only Darkseid.
.
Azzarello on Comedian and Rorshach in genius.
But this is still a terrible idea.
"Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder's eye on the Last Day."
I am done!! SOLD!!!!
And again, after yesterday and the switch of authors to other series, now, The Watchmen Prequels...
I sign for all the issues!!! I have not had the luck to buy the original Watchmen comic books, now there is no more excuses to let them on the shelves!!!!
Dc Comics is really ruining my bank account in this start of the year!!!!![]()
Whilst i wish DC wasn't pursuing this, its time to face facts and accept it.
Still i am not convinced by JMS on this at all.
Wonder when this will hit? Summer?
yeah, I'll be buying these
Scarry news... Could be awesome, but could also end up really bad... I will propably get all of them. Can't wait for Hughes art!
Me too, but what about Jae Lee on OZYMANDIAS? This is so gonna rock!
I can't help but feel that a) these are the kind of creative teams that should be enriching the DCU and b) this would be perfect as a secondary OGN project.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!
I was expecting something...bigger
Reading: GL, GLC, JSA, Hellblazer, Booster Gold, Jonah Hex, Doom Patrol, Supergirl, Powergirl, Transformers, Vengeance of the Moon Knight
You know I was really planning on ignoring this but each of these books have at least one part of a creative team that I'm interested in. Darwyn Cooke? Brian Azzarello? Jae Lee? Amanda Conner? Adam Hughes????
Though, I do agree that this sort of talent might have been better used to beef up the actual New 52 line. Still, work for hire is work for hire, I guess.
Check out my latest review: Iron Man 3
While I'm glad that this is prequels rather than sequels (the latter I think having more potential to damage the original) I still don't think this is a good idea. Not that, they won't necessarily be good books in their own right, but, they have to be VERY good books, and be very clever and Watchmen pretty much contains its own backstory anyway. Sure, there are gaps that could be filled, but, I'm not convinced they can be filled without detracting. If you were going to do other stories in the world of Watchmen, I'd have personally said it'd make more sense to do it with entirely separate characters.
Current Ongoing Pull List
X-Factor . New Avengers . Daredevil . Demon Knights . Journey into Mystery
Fuuuuu I already know it, I'm gonna be buying all of this! In single and in trade
They're an excellent set of creators and I'm interested in the format, very Seven Soldiers.
Basically it looks like DC is doing this right. With respect and class and talent.
Its clear the worst thing about this will be having to tolerate all the baseless histrionic goddamn whinging and sniping EVERY step along the way
