Dagger (Tandy Bowen): At some times has been listed as a mutant with a latent X-gene activated by a drug, others as a science-based mutate. Most recently, however, Dr. Nemesis observed that he did not have an X-Gene in Cloak & Dagger One-Shot #1. She was last seen with Wolverine, Cloak, and Remus, staging a raid on a manse owned by Romulus. Last Appearance: Wolverine (vol. 1) #313.

Daken (Akihiro Howlett): Deceased. Retained his powers of claws, and a healing factor on M-Day. The lost son of Wolverine and his Japanese bride, Itsa. He had his third “underclaw” coated with a re-forged shard of the Muramasa blade, to use its mystical properties to permanently wound, or kill those with a healing factor for a time, but Wolverine cut them out of him after besting him in one on one combat in Wolverine: Origins #48. He was believed to have died in New York City, after detonating an explosive device on himself, effectively trying to use a suicide bomb against his father, while he did not have a healing factor. However, he turned up alive, at the head of a new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, in Uncanny X-Force #27. He was later killed when drowned by Wolverine. Last Appearance: Uncanny X-Force #34.

Dale, Dr. Marc: Current status after the Decimation unknown. Dr. Dale was a physician and a friend of Professor X, with the power to heal others with an intimate touch. He was last seen finishing up with a patient. Last appearance: X-Men Unlimited (vol. 1) #42.

Dancing Water (??? Petros): Not actually a mutant, but a human altered by the Red Skull through unknown means. She was last seen working for the Red Skull. Last Appearance: Uncanny Avengers #3.

Danger I (Dolph Dongen): Current status after M Day unknown. Danish mutant with energy-generating abilities. Danger I is a member of Euroforce. Last Appearance: Gemini/Euroforce: Europa #4.

Dark Beast (Henry McCoy aka McCoy): The doppelganger of Earth 616’s Beast who escaped the Age of Apocalypse Earth of Marvel-295 managed to retain his powers of enhanced strength and agility after M-Day. Dark Beast was last seen after stopping the inter-dimensional threat known as the Exterminators. Last Appearance: X-Termination #2.

Darkholme (Kurt Darkholme, aka Nightcrawler-295): Deceased. The doppelganger of Earth 616’s Nightcrawler who escaped the Age of Apocalypse Earth of Marvel-295 after M-Day. Darkstar (Laynia Petrovna): Possibly Deceased. Darkstar maintained her powers after being resurrected after the Decimation. Darkstar, a mutant who could tap into the Darkforce dimension, died after being shot by Fantomex while under possession by Weapon XII in X-Men (vol. 2) #130. However, she turned up as a techno-organic virus-infected thrall of Selene in X-Force (vol. 3) #21, briefly. She returned to the land of the living, permanently, from the Darkforce Dimension where her essence was still existing, after forcing her will through the Darkforce medallion possessed by the Dire Wraith that ate, and assumed the form of Reena Stancioff. It is unclear if her physical form is now truly her own, returned, or that of a Dire Wraith. She was last seen with the Winter Guard, being teleported into orbit over the Earth by the Intelligentsia. Last Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 1) #676.

Darkstar III (Reena Stancioff): Deceased. Status as a mutant unconfirmed at this time, but suspected of being one. This incarnation of Darkstar was a platinum blonde, and as her predecessors, can tap into the Darkforce dimension. She was killed in battle against an invasion of Dire Wraiths in Russia, when one of the Dire Wraiths ate her brain to absorb her genetic markers. Last Appearance: Darkstar and the Winter Guard #3.

Dazzler (Alison Blaire): Dazzler retained her mutant power to control sound to light after M-Day, and has apparently developed a mysterious secondary power of immortality. When killed she seems to return to life within a few hours (first demonstrated in New Excalibur #1). Her last romantic encounter was was apparently a one-night fling with Wolverine. Dazzler was last seen after stopping the inter-dimensional threat known as the Exterminators. Last Appearance: X-Termination #2.

Deadbolt (???): Resurrected with the techno-organic virus. A member of the Dark Riders with the ability to remove his bones and wield them as weapons who died after being decapitated by a feral Wolverine after he rejected the attempt by the Dark Riders to restore his adamantium and make him Apocalypse’s new Horseman of Death in Wolverine (vol. 2) #100. However, he turned up as a techno-organic virus-infected thrall of Selene in X-Force (vol. 3) #21. He was last seen attacking Dazzler and Psylocke on Utopia. Deadpool (Wade Wilson): Not a mutant, but a human both infused with Wolverine’s healing factor, and a supernatural curse bestowed on him by Thanos, as a means of keeping him away from the entity known as Death.
