    Stephen Amell, who played a prominent role on HBO's "Hung," has been cast as playboy turned vigilante Oliver Queen in The CW drama pilot "Arrow," based on DC Comics' Green Arrow.

    Despite the negativity I hope that the series becomes surprisingly good and remains longterm. That way more series that isn't Superman or Batman can be made

    In one thread there was talk in that the series is more of a drama type of series instead of a superhero themed series. Also not spin offing from Smallville was the primary source of the negativity. Given the ending of Smallville I cant see a possibility of a spin off to be honest

    There's plenty of ways they could have done one if they'd wanted to, but it's probably just as well that they start fresh.
