I was under the impression Nirvana was a return to oblivion: Freedom from the endless cycle of suffering that is existance by ceasing to exist.

...That's what my high school Religious Education teacher said anyhow. It was a pretty useless class in general though so I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

Now, I am sticking with Young Justice, but I agree that this appears to be a horrible decision. Maybe you could pull it off after three years or so, but after the first season? Young Justice has barely got its stuff together so far. It just learned how to tie its own shoes and cook its own meals. And honestly, Young Justice has problems in storytelling that range from the minor to the severe, even before the time skip.

I will see where this takes us, but I don't like the timeskip so far. I find this version of Blue Beetle to be a bit annoying, don't care about Tim Drake, and found Lagoon Boy to be weird. The main strength of Young Justice was character based, and removing a lot of that drive (the Season 1 finale was also probably a bad decision) is going to make it hard to keep me interested.

I admit I am not the show's biggest fan anyway. I believe the series had a quite weak opening, and while it hit its stride, has had several episodes that were simply bad since then. I find Miss Martian and Kid Flash to be poorly handled characters (both improved a bit) and find the action to be quite poor a good deal of the time. While the show has real strengths, something like this could easily kill it from a story perspective.

Now, this could work. If they spent the season focusing on the mysteries of the five year gap, and added in a lot of flashbacks, this could be fascinating and intriguing. The first episode does not raise my hopes for this, as bringing in a bunch of new DCU characters is the last thing Young Justice needed to do.

Yeeeeeah, Static would've been a nice edition. And I hope they have some whole episode flashbacks to explain exactly what went on, though apparently a YJ game's coming out that explains what happened between the timeskip as well.

I'm sure they'll get around to it. Although I maintain my position of: if you're just going to flashback everything, why even do the skip in the first place? But that's just me.

You know what else is weird? Nightwing still has his young Robin voice. Kind of expected them to deepen it a little, at least. Weird seeing the skinny short kid's voice on a bulked up, tall adult.

Maybe, but i still think this is a death nell for the series. This isn't JLU, it doesn't come out on two successful(3 if you count Batman Beyond) shows. DC shows in themselves haven't been doing to well in the long run (The Batman, Batman TBATB) and those ones at least had their shit together for the most part. If they try to do the summer break thing like they generally do i don't see the show surviving. Ben 10 it isn't.

While I don't necessarily want to put it out of the count yet, if that does happen to be the case, I hope CN realizes it's their own fault for handling the shows schedule like dumbasses.

As for the writing...Eh, I'll wait for a couple more eps of this season to air before I judge it s'more. 'Cause personally I didn't think the last ep was bad exactly, just...confusing for lack of a better word.

I felt like Nightwing's voice was slightly deeper, yet still high pitched enough to sound weird coming form an adult.

That's always been such a pet peeve of mine is that they go by one character, one voice, they hardly ever decide on changing the voice and if they do it sounds like the kid disguising his voice rather than giving the impression of actually aging...

Also agree here, though I found Lagoon Boy and BB amusing. Tim's character would be more interesting to me if his character had more build up.

Pretty much, I only watch Cartoon Network occasionally for some of the older cartoons when I'm bored. Young Justice was pretty much the only current thing on there worth watching (or recording for me), and Adult Swim seems like they make horrible shows on purpose.
