Eh, they're pretty straightforward. I dreamt I was watching this old sitcom where Chevy Chase played the stupid family man. He'd bought this ridiculously enormous rifle called a "Canada gun" - it was like this antique two-meter long double-barreled blunderbuss with an decoratively carved stock. His wife said he couldn't afford it but he had already payed for it so he had to keep it a secret from the wife.

Then it transitioned to me trying to get rich from stolen lottery tickets or something.

I mean, you don't have to be Sigmund Freud to figure this out.

    Ooh, I get the meaning!

You are clearly in love with Chevy Chase. What else could a dream about him in such a domestic setting mean?

Well, shit. That is a pretty obvious dream.

But I was referring more to dreams as in what you want to do with your life.

No, see, I'm Chevy Chase; it's a projection. Means my subconsious thinks I'm terrible at handling money.

Or your subconscious is arguing that money is less important than love.

Eh, just trying to be amusing here. You might not be in the mood.

My love of ludicrously enormous guns! oO

Heh, bet Freud would have loved that.

Good, had trouble interpreting your reaction.

    So...

Which is better, a massively oversized gun, or a massively oversized sword?

In reality? The gun, since at least a huge gun means more firepower. Swords can only get so big before they become inefficient.

Dream-wise? Probably doesn't matter, it's all symbolics. In fact, in this case it's probably the same thing - the gun was a blatantly uncessecary expense same way my swords are IRL. I'm assuming since I was Chevy Chase in this dream, my brain just used a more American metaphor.

    Makes sense.

Now, which is better, an undersized sword or an undersized gun?

Boy, sure is Freudian in here.

Depends on what you mean by undersized. But even swords that are borderline daggers are still servicable stabbing and cutting tools. Very small guns, on the other hand, tend to have fairly low killing power. Or so I've heard, anyway.

Or if we're still talking dreams: Same answer as before. Depend on what the dream is trying to tell you.

The invariable response is "it's not about size, it's about how you use it".

    Sounds about right.

    Hm...

Too inane for a real battle, so, you with an oversized gun and an undersized sword vs 100 bears. Who wins?

Is it a Canada gun? One of those can blow a grown Kodiak in half from a hundred paces.

Dream Chevy Chase told me so.

Huh. I'd forgotten how much I liked Lugia'S Song from the second Pokémon movie.
