The way the english language is evolving toward gender neutralism, I am amazed you´re even allowed to use the word "woman".
The correct form should be "female man".
As in:
don´t say "heroine", say "female hero".
But "female man" doesn't work because you're degrading a female by referring to her as a "man". "Person" is also a problem, because you have "son", a male offspring, as part of the word. ("Female" is also a sticky point, since it has "male" as part of the word, giving it a sort of subservience to men again.)

It'd be an interesting storyline to have a super-hero transform into the opposite sex. I DO kind of wonder if Diana would be different as a guy or be mostly the same.
