I'm not trippin about that. Val has yet to acknowledge that Storm is black. And then when he talks down about the African continent saying they're uneducated and hinting that they're somehow inferior that's what get's my blood boiling. It's also aggravating to see most of you turn a blind eye towards it too and laugh along with it and encourage that behavior. That's not cool.

Naturally I would agree, but this so called "shits and giggles" has happened for so many years now that I cannot turn a blind eye to it. I realized a long time ago that it was more than teasing. I try to stay cordial with Val, but enough is enough. Val has some underlying biases that are made too blatantly obvious. I'm not one to accuse people of anything without enough evidence, but throughout the years Val has done little to change my perception of him.

I still to this day don't understand what's so difficult about accepting Storm's ethnicity. It's just utterly sad.

Val, you know were there is fire there is smoke. We agree on our disdain for the marriage. But I don't get to make in-jokes about women, people of Asian decent, or Muslims. Black folks, the gays, and Africa are all mine to talk smack about. If you want people to have a sense of humor about what you do then let everyone in on the joke. You do something once or twice it can be called funny, but when it get's to the point where it is repeated folks start to pay more attention to what they think you ARE NOT SAYING. Go ahead and continue. With no proper dialogue we will draw our own conclusions.

So is denial sweetheart. Try back just a few pages earlier when you were expressing your favoritism of everything Greek history, and how Storm's African history has nothing worth revisiting besides two interesting characters.

Anyway, about the preview of Uncanny X-Men #7, Good Apex said if the x-men are immune and Cyke said no the aren't. But I think Storm is immune right?

so just because I say that Greek mythology is far more interesting that whatever happened in Africa in the 1950s (where Storm was supposedly born according to the original stories) means that I consider Africa to be inferior? Like I said, extrapolating is an unreliable science, and making assumptions from what is far from the truth.

There are only 2 characters back in Storm's history that are purely African, Ainet and Achmed. If you believe knowing more about this 2 characters is equal or better than the ENTIRE GREEK Mythology then it is you who are biased, because comparing 2 characters to an entire pantheon is simply ridiculous

And yes, I do believe RLAAMJR doesn't know half as much as 90% of the people that regularly post in this thread, and that can be seen from every one of his posts. He has even admitted such in more than one occasion.

If you can tell Flex its not right then you can do the same for Val. You have the power to be a mediator. Storm was meant to bring us together but our supposed proprietress seems to be (however jokingly so) drawing a line in the sand. I'm going to say what no one else will. Over 400 years later and black folks everywhere are still pissed. The residual effects have still left 90% of us pissed. Slavery in the west and colonization on our own continent. Yeah it's been nearly half a century (in the west at least) since, but nearly half a millennium of rethinking our self image does not vanish over night. So go ahead and giggle and laugh. Don't try to be a REAL leader and open a discussion that brings unity and constructive dialogue.

I'm sorry Shade but I interpreted that much differently. Just because Val said Storm's childhood characters were not worth revisiting does not mean she does not like Africa. She said Diana had far more interesting characters because she had the entire greek mythology behind her origins. Storm hardly haves anyone connected to her in her childhood that is anymore interesting than what's already been explored IMHO.

Now if we go to her ancestry or her Grandmother's hidden village, then that is something that would be worth exploring. Storm already has enough retcons in her history. Everyone that has been connected to her past has been reexplored up to this point.
