It probably has to do with Storm's last encounter with Sage where Sage betrays the team. Or it could be something else.

Lol...I totally forgot about this with Sage. That is true. Evnen though Storm was the one who saved her from Bogan, after Xavier left her high and dry, she was at the ready to take Storm out when she thought Storm was about to kill or KO Warren. And after the XSE's fight with the Hellfire Club and Sage rejoined I don't think she and Storm have spoke ever since. That could be a very interesting reuinion in the pages of UXF.

I thought this was all part of Sage's plan to get Storm into Khan's citadel. If it was, it worked. Still doesn't downplay all the other stuff given what Storm has done for Tessa.

As I recall she had the gun set to stun as stated by Bishop and I believe that she did it for Warren's sake as she feared how Ororo had entered into a liminal state as had the world, I am still a fan of Sage and also do not believe that she just stood by while Viper sliced her open. I recall Sage later holding a knife to Viper's face and saying attack one x-men, attack us all. Perhaps someone could provide a scan of the above mentioned instances and refresh all of our memories. I am sure that our HP is a big Sage fan and would love to pretty please show some scans of the friendship these two once had

Pretty sure Sage was just making a show after the fact. She did just stand and watch as Storm was cut by Viper, but its also true it was her plan so that Storm could take Khan down from the inside. That wasn't what broke their relationship, it was the XSE/Hellfire Club issue. I mean, Sage has always lived on the edge, she's not this really social person. Storm has lived on the edge as well, but she is more friendly and social, and I think she thought she had brought Sage a little closer to center, and was shocked when Sage reverted to her base setting, so to speak. She really shouldn't have been, but she was. If they were to reunite after all this time, who knows how it would work. I'd like to see them reconcile, but who knows..
