Man, I've been reading everyone's lists and it seems like you guys had a blast.

If this is done in the new year, I'm totally in.

This was alot of fun, not only did I read more by keeping track, looking over everyone elses caused me to look for some other titeles as well. I finished the year reading 1246, though now I think it's posssible to hit 1500 as my schedule has eased, so maybe next year!

I have finally honed in on my reading list having been away from collecting for several years, which has given me a little bit more time to include back issues/classics as well.

Best Books of the year: Archer and Armstrong, Knight & Squire, Invincible, A. Bizzaro, Hawkeye, Various Before Watchmens (Hit or Miss).

Of course they are not all gems and I tried out ALOT of stuff this year while getting back into things, going WAY overboard some months, finally realizing I would rather have a mix of old comics each month included in my spending rather than getting some of this drek.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer 6, this is terrible! Pregnant, fall down drunk Buffy who is about to get an abortion but is actually a Robot. There I saved you the time reading it. Also made the mistake of buying twice as DCBS had a cool Batman variant cover for 70 cents, so threw this one away and it resurrected itself.

Black Kiss II. Never read the first series, but this was bad. Over the top graphically depicting scenes of such degradation, that the 3 issues I made it through got trashed.

Caligula. Same problem as Black Kiss, wound up binning this as well. I don't like throwing away comics, but these were terrible and I 1. Don't want them in my collection and 2. Don't want to be responsible for someone else reading them.

    Mister Terrific-Just a bad book.

It took me a while to add them up (feel free to check my math if you're incredibly bored), but my totals are:

    861 singles
33 trades comprised of 219 issues
    22 graphic novels
    26 novels
62 misc (magazines, promos, kids books, etc.)

giving me 1,004 if you count the trades as 1 or 1,190 if you count the issues in each. It looks like I fell short either way, and must now burst.
Pull List; seems to be too long to fit in my sig...

Well I probably read the least of anyone else here, but it's still the most I've ever read in a single year and, with two small children and a full time job, it's probably the most I'm capable of. Anyway, I had a blast and really enjoyed being able to look back and review all I'd read in the year.

    Total read: 872 books

The Platinum Age: 122 (all pulp stories)
    The Golden Age: 44
    The Atom Age: 69
    The Silver Age: 91
    The Bronze Age: 148
    The Copper Age: 259
    The Modern Age: 124

    The science fiction genre: 268
    The fantasy genre: 194
    The superhero genre: 149
    The horror/occult genre: 95
    The action/adventure genre: 60
    The humor genre: 58
    The war genre:15
    The detective genre:10
other: 1 (where would YOU place Hansi: The Girl Who Loved the Swastika??)

Best comic I read this year: Silver Surfer (1978 Fireside Graphic Novel)

Updated my list on page 1. Made it to 985 for the year. I knew I wasn't going to make it to 1,500 but I was hoping to make it to 1,000. Almost did it.
Top 5 favorite current books (in no particular order): Batman Inc., Batman, Batman and Robin, Daredevil, Superior Spider-Man

Final tally for the year: 1033. Update post #7. End of the year business precluded me reading much in the final week.
