Update for 4/29/2012. Posted my final tally for April a day earlier as I'm going to treat myself to a day of no comics tomorrow.

Just updated my April totals, 426 for the year, 126 comics read in April. Keeping track of them is definitely encouraging me to read more books.

To Recap: Best books read: Huntress Minnie Series, Kato, Bat Lash Minnie Series (1-4, missing 5-6)
    Honorable Mention: Last Phantom
Terrible: Buffy season 9, 6-7. Buffy is a black out drunk. Buffy gets taken advantage of ALOT while passed out. Buffy is Pregnant. Buffy is going to have an abortion. Buffy turns out to be a Robot (but can still pee on a pregnancy test, and get drunk). One potential date rapist boyfriend types quips at the end of issue 7 that 'he knows his way around a buffy-bot'. I tore up and threw away issue 6 after no-one bid on my comic lot, and read 7 in the bookstore. Really bad. bad.bad.bad.

Guess what I did? That's right: I read more books and added them to my post at the end of page 2.

OK, I admit that I was a bit snooty about this thread when it began. I thought that posting what you'd read in a year was a bit of a waste of time and really, does anybody care how many comics you've read? But, seeing this thread bounce up and down the board every week or so, as new posts are added, got me thinking, "yeah, I wonder how many comics I'll actually read this year?" This thought has nagged at me for two months and so, I've taken the plunge and bactracked to 1st of January to compile a list of every comic I've read so far in 2012. Hey, what can I say...I wanna play too, dammit!

I've decided to list my tally as single issues, even though some of them were read in TPB form. There's no way I'll make 1500 by year end, but my tally as of May 1st is 210 comic books, which actually surprised me...I thought it'd be less.

    EDIT: Current tally is 425

Update posted 5/7/2012. A short list this week. Too much real world interference for the usual high "body count."

Updated list. YTD total now at 287, nearly halfway through the year but only 1/5 of the way to 1500, so it looks like a bust for me, but I am enjoying what I am reading. Recent highlights and lowlights include:

lowlights of current stuff: Ann Nocenti's Green Arrow (issues 7-9)-I enjoyed her Daredevil run but I just can't get into this take on Ollie.

highlights of current stuff: Ed Brubaker's Fatale continues to impress.

highlights of classic stuff: checked out some classic Frank McLaughlin Judomasters from Charlton. Great fun to read them.

I see you've recently read the first Cloak & Dagger mini-series. This was a fav of mine as a kid and although it's still enjoyable, I do tend to regard it as a bit of a let down after the duo's previous appearances in Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man. Still, I'll always have a soft spot for C&D in my comic reading heart.

I bust I don't want to read that much in one year too many books a day.

Not to mention too much money even if all 1,500 books were only a dollar I'm not sure id want to spend 1,500 dollars in one year on just comic books. That's assuming every book is one dollar when in reality that total is more like 5k on books in one year. Yeah I still make more then minimum wage but uh no thanks I bust.

Still, I've read some GREAT stuff this year, and I'm glad I'm chronicling all of it.

My updated list can be found here.
1.87 comics per day where is that equation from?
