BTW, what do people think of GOTG/IU? Is it worth the pickup? Trade it? Single it?
I definitely agree that this should've been issue 100.
Please pardon any aggressive auto-correct feature typos.

Definitely worth picking up, especially since you like Invincible. The creative team of Hester and Nauck is excellent.

    Seconded. Fantastic comic.

I liked the fact that issue 100 was nothing Earth shattering, but set up a lot of stuff for the future. That was the whole point and what Kirkman was going for, to have an issue 100 that broke the mold. I like that Invincible as a comic doesn't need to have milestone issues for big things to happen, issue 102 is an example of that. Keeps the comic that much more interesting and able to surprise me.

You might have a point that he'd have fared better if he had not been taken by surprise but the fact that they were able to destroy him so thoroughly in such a short period of time makes me think that these are his lieutenants for a very damned good reason - collectively they pose a threat, even to him.
I agree, I think we will see further plot and character development with the lieutenants (obviously) especially after we saw the seed planted in 101 with thraggs outrage with the 3 who have started to care about humanity ( or their "mates"/children and their wellbeing at least). I hope that we get to see more of those 3 especially with the woman lieutenant, can't remember her name at the moment, but one of my earliest wonders about the V's was the role that women played in the V's culture/society with it being so brutal and warlike. From a human perspective the V's seem like a testosterone fueled, male dominant people.

From the little information that has been given from Nolan and Anissa's comments... I see them being all about strength, gender doesnt matter. Anissa has had a few husbands, and I dont think those marriages ended in divorce. She is also one of Thraggs lieutenants... The reason its seems like a male dominated society is because males are just stronger than females(usually).
As for their roles in procreation... they get pregnant and give birth. Nolan stated that they had sex was for procreation and not pleasure.
Im just curiois to know how V children are raised.

    Invincible Universe #2 out today!

Pretty excellent issue again. Plenty of action with just enough character moments to give the issue some weight. Some quick thoughts:

    spoilers:
    - Guess the marriage bug is catching in the Invincible universe. Feel bad Knockout got interrupted.
    - Looks like the hammer is starting to have an effect on Kid Thor with the "Call of battle" line. Hope we see that developed a bit.
    - I wouldn't mind owning that 2 page splash of all the heroes arriving. Awesome work by Nauck.
    - Nice to see Mark make an appearance and I think they use him just right here. Help as some muscle when needed (it wouldn't make sense for him not to show up to big problems in this universe) but keep the focus on the rest of the characters.
    - The Robot brain surgery was cool.
    - Felt bad for Agent "Edelman" but it did lead to some nice character growth for Cecil.
    end of spoilers

All in all, really entertaining and great looking book. It's nice not to have to wait a full month to get a bit of an Invincible fix.

Behind as usual, and I just finished 102. Wow, great issue, but a bit abrupt!

    spoilers:
I really like the Nolan in charge angle, and the fact they admire the wisdom and not strength makes it plausible for the V's to follow a former "traitor". It helps many of them have started to care about their Earth mates, too.

I did think it was a bit implausible that the V's overpowered Thragg considering how ridiculously powerful he has been portrayed so far, but maybe there is something we don't know about his lieutenants.

I feel like this also came to a head too quickly, but I still enjoyed it.

I was legitimately happy and smiled IRL when Mark proposed. I hope they are together for a long time and nothing bad happens!
    end of spoilers

You're gonna love it. I'll warn you though, many people don't feel it really hits it's stride until issues 10-12. So I'd recommend sticking with it at least that long if you're not sold at first. Let us know what you think.

Your LCS owner is a good man, then! Yes, it is definitely best to start at the beginning, and yes, lots of twists is an understatement. Keep us posted with your reactions.

I expect you'll be calling up bookstores late at night to find the trades once you finish the last one you have. It's hard to put down.
