But Ryan Ottley has said that he makes more money as co-owner of that book than he would working for the Big 2 and it's considered extremely successful for an indie comic. It's different when that money goes mostly in your own pocket.

And the GtG started with strong sales. They dropped off pretty good at the end but I think that was more a product of extended delays than lack of interest. They obviously feel the interest is there for an ongoing. It will be written by Phil Hester with art by Todd Nauck. The trade of the GtG mini comes out in August and the ongoing starts in September. The Image FCBD offering had a preview in it.
Ah ok, I gotcha. Thanks for the info.

is that Todd Nauck of YOUNG JUSTICE fame? I loved his work on that book...
Comics still reading: Floppies- Saga TPB- GI Joe ARAH, Sixth Gun, Hawkeye, Usagi Yojimbo. DC nu52 is unreadable...

Disagree with you on this. The supporting cast in Invincible has always had a prominent role since issue 2 and is one of the great strengths of the series. Robot, Rex, Monster Girl, Immortal, Cecil, Donald, Allen (although I might upgrade him to main character now), William, DA Sinclair, etc are all characters that would be considered secondary that bring an awful lot to the series. A rich and well developed cast is one of Kirkman's biggest strengths as a writer.

Zandale has been the "lead" for 5 issues so far. That's hardly being drawn out. Although I tend to agree that I'm not that interested in Zandale (especially compared to Mark) and if this change was going to be permanent it would seriously damage my enjoyment of the series. But I can deal with it for awhile. And Kirkman has spent the last few issues filling in Zandale's character, giving him relationship drama, family issues, a mysterious missing brother, etc which helps to make him a bit more interesting. I'm looking forward to his origin story as teased in the issue 97 solicits.

Bottom line - Even if I hated the recent issues and Zandale (which of course I don't) it still wouldn't make me drop the book. A series that has been mind blowingly great for 90 issues, has a writer I greatly enjoy, and knockout art gets quite a bit of leeway and slack from me and a few issues that I didn't like wouldn't be enough to drop it. But that's just hypothetical because the book has still been a great read lately.
This, 100%. As usual, I completely agree with Capuga. The book is excellent, and the current diversion is fun, but I expect Mark to be back in the driver's seat before long.

I just started the 5th hardcover...I absolutely love the new look of the art. And I wouldn't want to take away from the awesome stories that took place in this collection. Oh, did I mention I read the whole thing in a day. Can't wait to pick up the 6th.

since youre talking about back issues, how much is issue 1 worth? I found it in my cupboard the other day - I have no recollection of buying it or anything and have never bought any other invincible singles at all... I guess once upon a time I saw a big ol #1 and thought the cover looked cool or something

Depends on the condition of course. But I know that someone just bought one for around $100.

    No new issue today, sadly.

Unfortunately, it sounds like there was a problem at the printer so we won't see it till next week. Was a real gut punch when I spent the whole week anxiously expecting to have this in my hands. On the plus side, there probably won't be much of a wait between 94 and 95.
