Nice, glad you're enjoying it (and it just gets better and better). And don't worry, the monster of the week thing will give way to a group of mostly recurring villains with new ones introduced periodically. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought there was tension early between Mark and Eve. And you should consider coming over the the Invincible boards on the Image forums and discussing these issues as you go along in the Invincible re-read thread. The only problem with that is that we do discuss some spoilers and how old issues relate to new ones. But you could start you own spoiler free thread that we won't spoil for you. I'd love to get someone's thoughts as they go along through their first reading.

+1... I agree. Come join us for discussion
Should I start a new thread or jump into that one? I'll probably reread again tomorrow night. I tend to fly threw comics but then quickly forget what happened. I'll definately have more questions on the second round.
Pull List: Saga, Danger Club, Invincible, Chew, Animal Man, Aquaman, Supergirl, Earth 2, Dancer, The Flash, TWD, Before Watchmen, Harbinger, and Swamp Thing
Id say start a new thread... like he said, we do have spoilers in the current re-read thread.
Nice! Glad you like it. The villain of the week is just early on to set the stage. It's kind of fun to see someone go through this for the first time. Just wait til you get to 12 ish. Fan = hit.
I put this reply in the Image forums thread, though I would bring it over here to start some more discussion.
I am about half way through issue 15 and HOLY CRAP. I was not ready for that bomb at all! Every notion I though I had gathered from like the first 5 issues turned out to be completely wrong.
I will do a short review of each one I guess and then ask some questions. This is my first superhero series I've ever read, so prepare yourselves! Questions in bold for ease of reading.
#1 - I felt it was a strong first issue. Mark is a pretty good character and can relate to him very well. The supporting cast is pretty stellar too. Definitely like where the series started. Only things I need to understand is how the suits are "nuclear-powered" as Omni-Man said about the tailor? That doesn't make much sense. Also, I loved the foreshadowing!
#2 - A strong continuum of the series. The "story" of Omni-Man's mission was stellar, especially in relation to what happens later. The introduction of the Teen Team was very well done. As was the Mauler Twins introduction. The bombing was a great cliffhanger. Also, why does everyone on Viltrum have awesome staches?
#3 - "Loving" (*ba dum tss*) the tension between Eve and Mark already! The subplot with the little old aliens was also a nice a touch and a will be a great tie-in.
#4 - The ending to the suicide bombings was great. Although I didn't feel as if the scene got the justice it deserved. It felt kind of rushed, but great none-the-less.
#5- My favorite issue so far. Can't say enough about Allen the Alien. Loved the light-hearted nature of this issue. The scene with Allen was "cute" (I can't think of a better word) and I really liked it.
#6 - Confused me a little bit. What was the robot/skeleton/thing villain doing? Seemed like out-of-nowhere.... MONSTER! The last page also confused me with the base being empty with Eve there, but it will probably show up later.
#7 - I loved the superhero spoofs. War Woman was my favorite one. The ending was a doozy. I did not expect that at all. I thought it was the black guy, but then......... OMNI-MAN. Like WTF I really liked this dude.
#8 - The funeral was a nice scene, esp. with the shout-outs to all those other heroes. The Rex/Eve breakup scene got me so pumped. I was like "yeaaaaaaa Mark - get you some of dat" and then his mom walked in. The Amber love note really rustled my jimmies. I really hoped he didn't read it and pursued Eve, but noooooooo.
#9 - Again, these shout-outs are AMAZING. They really make this comic a gem. But wait, guess who is there..... Allen the Alien. Hell Yeah! Loved the try-outs too. The Rex and Monster Girl thing was cool. Why was Eve so rude, where did she have to go after the lounge lizard fight? I like where they are taking Robot too. I feel they are developing the character exactly how I would like them to. Don't get me started on the Mark/Amber voyeur scene with Eve. WTF bro? Eve is definitely my second favorite character and she is getting passed up by this blonde? Get your stuff together Mark! I liked the rebirth of the Immortal guy too.
#10 - Loved the little thing they did with the comic artist interview. This writing is truly amazing! Let's have a round of applause for the Omni-Man and Immortal fight! That is what am talking about! I want fight likes that all day, erry day! Plus, the "let's have a talk" ending was great pacing.
As for my reasoning behind the Mark/Eve relationship. I think I've become a sucker for these things now. Still can't watch a romance movie, but man I love reading them. (I know, you can have my man card)
So that is all for tonight folks! Let's discuss! I'll review the next 10 for tomorrow night I guess.

Remember a few pages back when we were talking about how Invincible would need to be adapted as an animation because they couldn't capture the superheroics and scale on live-action film? Well, I just saw an advance screening of Avengers, and damn...they could totally pull it off with the budget and Joss Whedon. So good! Now I wanna see' Vince on the big screen.
Hey CAPUGA - what are your thoughts on the quality of the LIBRARY COLLECTOR edtions of the Invincible series? I'm on the fence. They look great but I've never been able to open one and the reviews on paper quality and slipcase durability are quite mixed. Are they worth the price?
They are very nice editions. The slip case covers are good quality (they can dent a little if you drop them without the book inside supporting it but that's to be expected) and the paper quality is excellent. They are very oversized and include all of the extras you get in the Ultimate hardcovers (sketches, the covers to the trades and hardcovers, a couple of Kirkman's scrips). My only issue with them is that they are hard to hold and read because of the size and they are a bit more then the cost of 2 of the Ultimate hardcovers (which is the amount of material they contain). So I find the Ultimate hardcovers a bit better value because of price and ease of holding them while reading, but you get the even bigger art on the Library editions and in terms of quality it is very well put together.

Since I've gotten back into comics I haven't read any super hero books but I'm thinking about giving this one a try. Should I just jump in on the upcoming issue or do I need to wait for a new story arc?
Pull List: Ghostbusters, Saga, Invincible, Guarding the Globe, Cyber Force, Hellboy in Hell, Punk Rock Jesus and Happy
